She might want to make love, but she’d prefer if her husband used a condom.
In other words she consents to sex but not to (possible) pregnancy.

Odd thing to ruin a marriage over, but she has that “responsibility”?
Uh-huh, sure.
It’s always the woman’s “responsibility“ to keep men in line.

I mean, otherwise men would have to take responsibility for themselves and we can’t have that!

She absolutely has the responsibility to set boundaries. The man has to set boundaries as well.

And if he doesn’t comply he faces rape charges, because his wife has that responsibility to turn him in?

She has the right to turn him in if she wants to.

She also has the right to not turn him in if she she wants to forgive him.

And here’s the final kicker:
If she lacks the guts to turn him and doesn’t do so out of fear, that is TOUGH, and she has no one to blame but herself, and making excuses goes against the concept of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.

Doesn't he have the responsibility not to rape? Doesn't he have the responsibility to use a condom upon request?

It’s the wife’s fault if the husband doesn’t use a condom, when asked to use a condom.
Well, how nice for him!

No, dont twist my words.
Then please explain what: “If she lacks the guts to turn him and doesn’t do so out of fear, that is TOUGH, and she has no one to blame but herself, and making excuses goes against the concept of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.” means

It means that she has the personal responsibility to use the legal resources she has.

If he rapes he pays consequences if reported.
More often than not, he doesn’t. But for sure she will be drug through the mud. That’s why she likely won’t report anything.

He doesn’t.
She can’t go to the law and say, “he raped me”, as she consented to the sex.
That’s why she feels she needs hormonal-based birth control, (that she “controls”).

Many Christians see condom use as immoral. In effect, she asked him to commit a sin--having sex for fun without the possibility of pregnancy.

The original objection was to hormonal birth control, (post #48)
Nothing hormonal. Condoms are alright because they dont act as abortafacients in any sense.
Which led to a subthread because the male is in control of the “birth-control” and the fun rabbit-hole we descended is deeper still.

So do you think a legal system is useless?
When it comes to a rape that anything other than a violent attack that leaves plenty of evidence. When it comes to he said/ she said occurrences, which is the majority, I don’t trust the legal system to find justice.

She consented to the sex without a condom. I see that as her choice. Setting boundaries is part of being an adult.
