But what if what AV1611VET says is so fundamental to his Christianity that when people make fun of it means they are making fun of his faith?

Wouldn't he be correct is saying he is being persecuted for his faith?

No. Because the intent of the "attackers" is not to belittle his faith. If AV sincerely believed that the Bible told him to cut people off in traffic, would the honks of cars behind him be religious persecution? Of course not, they're honking because AV cut them off in traffic.

No. Because the intent of the "attackers" is not to belittle his faith.

But what if "embedded age" is crucial to his faith?

I mean, why would he defend such a strange point-of-view unless it was of utmost importance?

If AV sincerely believed that the Bible told him to cut people off in traffic, would the honks of cars behind him be religious persecution? Of course not, they're honking because AV cut them off in traffic.

They are honking because he is carrying out what he believes to be God's command.

Now if he had a sign on his car that said: "I will cut you off in traffic because God told me to" then the people would be honking at him for his religious faith principles.

AV1611VET comes on here and says these things and makes no effort to hide that this is just pure religion and he tells science to take a hike whenever it conflicts with the bible, so isn't it really sorta like everyone is attacking his "faith" since his faith seems to require that science be broken on the wheel of his interpretation of the Bible?

Where are the dinosaurs?
Noah ate them all.
Why aren't there more dinosaur bones?
Noah's chihuahua ate them all.

I still think it's all in the intent of the person replying to him. He makes it out that people consciously or subconsciously target him "because he's a Christian". Most people here know the difference between AV's Bible fanfics (flood waters on Neptune) and his outright misrepresentations of facts for his own gain (Challenger, thalidomide). The latter is far more often criticized.

Whatever, let's stop giving him this attention.

When they were about to land on the moon, they thought it would be covered with much more dust than what was actually there.
No, they really didn't. Where are you getting your information?

It is definitly what you say that earns you to be ridiculed, and not being christian.
It is definitely what you say that earns you to be ridiculed, and not being a scientist.
I don't know anyone here who ridicules RickG, Verysincere, NGC1672 or Lucaspa (long time not seen). They have christian faith symbols too, but are never ridiculed. Why, because they don't say ridiculous things.
Birds evolving from dinosaurs and man evolving from apes are considered by many people as two of the most ridiculous claims ever made by intelligent human beings. Just because you are not ridiculed doesn't mean your claims aren't viewed to be ridiculous. They are.

In addition, a universe evolving from an infinitesimal point and is now composed of, and sustained by, 96% black matter and black energy is also ridiculous.
It's what you say, not what you are.
No kidding.

Actually Jazer, my post to our "one-liner" newbie had a purpose. How will the bot respond?
Ironically, people always comes up with ways to be extra negative in life. They will complain when the bot writes too much & when the bot writes too little. Unfortunately, people don't get banned off forums like I do. For some reason, they're allowed to mock a person for one-liners. Nothing seems to be able to please people. They will always find something to point their fingers at. The traffic is too slow. Somebody cut me off. My soup is too hot. My soup is too cold. I'm too fat. I'm too skinny. Why won't my boss give me a raise. It couldn't be my attitude, LOL, because i'm not even human, I'm just an Oatmeal Bot.

These people are very good at putting us in Catch-22 situations.

I've even had people ridicule me, while misquoting me; then, when I correct their mistake, I get ridiculed for the corrected version -- ^_^

Stick around, you ain't seen nothing yet.

As AV contrasted it, to a pair of every kind of animal can't possibly fit on an ark ^_^

I'm agnostic on that point. I have yet to see any compelling explanation of how G-d did it. And that's all science is, the study of G-d's hand, to see both what He did, and how He did it. They concede they can't explore why.

I'd prefer creationism to merely refer to the belief that G-d created; but that's not how it's used.

Dexter kills people but he leaves no evidence, no trace, no explaination. Everybody is agnostic to the creationistic abilities of serial killing Dexter. Not a lot of people know that Dexter did it. That's why they believe in evolution.

Here's the difference AV. Yes this is the "Christian Forums", which provide a christian non hostile environment. What you an many other people, christian and non-christian as well, seem to forget that this particular part of the forums are called the "Science Forums", where, oh my goodness, science should be discussed. This particular thread is about dinosaurs. Religion should not even be brought up here.

I do not criticize "religious" beliefs, I criticize completely unfounded and INANE statements like, physics was different in the past", science can take a hike, you weren't there, etc.; in other words, statements that any 6th grader can tell you are silly and ridiculous. Those kinds of statements have no business in a forum where science is supposed to be discussed.

Just as much, I despise comments ridiculing religious beliefs. For the most part I ignore them, but occasionally I'll caution a poster that such comments are unnecessary and counterproductive.

One thing I have observed is that those who appear from their posts with little subject/topic knowledge, whether christian or non-christian are the ones who ridicule and make inflammatory comments. Conversely, those who appear from their posts to have a good subject/topic knowledge, whether christian or non-christian are the ones who behave as adults should and are the least offensive. Now understand, when I say "little subject/topic knowledge" or "good subject/topic knowledge", I am not talking about one's education or intelligence; but rather there apparent knowledge on the subject/topic. I do hope you understand the difference. :)

Um.

Ok.

You are aware that Dexter is a fictional character right? And how one leads this into creationism...

Wow.

Poe?
