Fossilisation is not an easy process to undergo. Heck if they all died in the mythical flood shouldn't there be tons of bones laying around?
Did you know they finds things on top of mountains?

Yeah - they did an amino-acid assay on some little bits that were saved. I can't believe anyone considered it a plesiosaur which were air breathing but somehow no one had ever seen one.
That's probably explainable with psychological factors. Things easily get out of hand.

BTW, just noticed.
Not cool by JoeyArnold in changing quotes (post #7 quoting post #6).

Have you ever seen a basking shark that looked exactly like that?
I've seen quite a few large rotting animals that look strange when the spinal column is somewhat intact but the rest has disintegrated. Though not a basking shark per se.

I think the amino-acid assay but this to rest 30 years ago or so - plus it sure as heck couldn't be a plesiosaur.

How many years have dinosaurs been extinct?
I realise you want that rotting shark to be a plesiosaur (which weren't dinosaurs by the way) for other reasons - but it was a rotting shark and dinosaurs (or marine reptiles like plesiosaurs) were not around when people were chucking spears and living in caves.
