no, he is not. He is saying praise God we have the right to self defense, and when you figure the percentage of guns used for harm in this country compared to the number of guns OR gun owners it is a TINY percentage.Do you hear yourself? Or are you simply closing your ears to the fact that these parents are mourning the loss of their children, parents who could not be there to protect them?
All of us, liberals, conservatives, Christians, Atheists, whatever! We all need to start sending demands our police and politicians and gun manufacturers, "DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!"
The people who mean harm will get guns one way or another. We have background checks and SEVERAL groups of people who are not allowed to own firearms already.How are all these nut jobs (or rather people with evil hearts) able to get these guns? Are they just lying around waiting to be picked up? Just upholding the second amendment is not going to make these shootings go away. I agree, we need better law enforcement and mental health facilities. But we also need to keep out of these people's hands weapons that can be easily converted into semi-automatics.

Yes, the 1950s were so wonderful. What with the KKK, rigid segregation, racism, stigma against single mothers and gays. Violent crimes against black people, pretty much anyone who wasn't white. Ah, those were the days.
and that is your family's choice, but to say that folks that follow the law should not be able to have guns to defend THEIR families and/or hunt if they want to because a small percentage of people misuse guns is like saying that no one should be able to drive because people drive impaired.My family doesn't own any guns.

The United States has the highest homicide rate of all industrialized nations. The United States has least strict gun control laws of all industrialized nations. Louisiana has the most permissive gun control laws in the USA and the highest homicide rate of any state.
Britain banned semi-auto guns. Australia banned semi-auto guns.
Germany requires gun permits for all gun owners. No permit, no legal right to own a gun. They do background checks on everyone requesting a gun permit and have a one year waiting period.
The US should have universal background checks, gun permits and ban semi-automatic guns.
People who own guns are more likely to die of gunshot wounds than people who do not own guns.
Actually, no we do not lack compasstion we just realize that sometimes in this world violence is needed.I really am appalled by the lack of compassion and humanity on these forums. I'm glad I left the Christian label. I haven't left God, but I'm not going to be associated with such callous, heartless, cruel people who stand for the very things Jesus opposed.
