Mental health is real it is NOT ALL about morals.And mental health is the problem. I was a kid in the 70s and 80s and we didn't see this kind of stuff because we were raised with morals and we received correction when we messed up.
People are mental because of the distance they are putting between themselves and God. They place a barrier of sin up and holler that they need medicine to deal with life when it is just a heart issue.
The heart is evil above all things.
SO AMERICA see what happens when you start taking prayer out of schools and removing God from courthouses and so on.
I'm not gonna be debating God and his role in the evil of this world or whatever. What I am going to say is something that needs to be said.
We've had yet another school shooting this morning in Texas. We've had yet another wicked, truly evil person walk in freely and murder eight students. If that does not outrage you, you are not human and have no pulse.
The last thing we need to offer are just "thoughts and prayers." Thoughts and prayers are not enough anymore. God hates gun violence. Period. And so should we.
How many school shootings is it going to take for the church to wake up to the fact that there are truly evil people in this world? That Satan has made it clear he is not going to play fair? Does it have to go so far as to seeing their own children murdered? I'm all for the second amendment, but is it worth defending at the cost of these kids lives?
Bottomline, this is all outrageous and disgusting. All of us, liberals, conservatives, Christians, Atheists, whatever! We all need to start sending demands our police and politicians and gun manufacturers, "DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!"

You don't need to use a gun to kill yourself.Are they not killing themselves though? Which is what two thirds of all gun "violence" is.
There is a difference in living by the sword and using guns for self-defense/food.Okay, this is the last thing I'm going to say, 'cause I'm tired of going back and forth.
I recognize that banning guns altogether is not the answer. But not doing anything about the violence is not the answer either. It's not an option. Guns are violent tools whether in the hands of good guys or bad guys. Jesus said those who live by the sword will die by it. He also says it would be better for someone to be thrown into a lake to drown than harm a child.
How about we respond the way Jesus would and not constantly moan about all the morality and demand our "rights" be upheld. The early Christians didn't do any of that. They just went about their lives loving people and doing good deeds. We can learn a lot from them.
Bottomline, both guns and people have to be changed in order for this to be cut down. Yes, people are sinful, but they more often than not use guns to commit that sin. Instead of yelling at each other all the time and being so easily offended, how about we show some backbone and work with people we might otherwise disagree with? If you claim to love life, then you have an obligation to defend it somehow.
God cares about people more than your guns.
He says single mothers and gays deserve a stigma as they're bad for society. He has no idea what pain these people deal with. He has no idea what it means to love the marginalized and abused and "sinners."
They may need our love, but that doesn't mean that their lifestyle isn't bad for society. Kids raised in single parent homes don't have the same support that ones in a traditional household with a mother and father have. I know this from experience. As for the gays, that's a subject of another thread, and there have been numerous threads on that subject.
Religion is bad for society as well, and Christianity is not a religion no matter what evangelicals say. It wasn't seen as a religion in the days of Rome. The Christians in fact back then were called Atheists.
Religion says, "The good people are in and the bad people are out." Jesus says, it's the humble who are in and the proud who are out.

Of course God cares about people more than guns. But GUNS ARE NOT THE ISSUE. It is naive to blame guns, when responsible gun owners and sane citizens do not go on rampages.God cares about people more than your guns.

Anyway, I'm still wondering what your thoughts are on what changed: why high schools could literally hand the guns to teens back then and everyone was safe, but today, with all the strict control, we have all these shootings. It's not the tools. It's gotta be something else. May I suggest, perhaps, the culture? The rise of secular progressivism and its attack on the family, human nature, and objective morality; the substitution of sins like lying and adultery and perversion and replacement with stupid focus on nonsensical things like "bigotry" and "intolerance"?
