I don't think Christians can criticize though. I asked on here a while ago whether I should kill a person if I believe God has told me to. The vast majority of Christians told me I should. Yet, ISIS believes God has told them to kill people, and somehow they're barbaric.

I'm not supporting ISIS here, I just don't think Christians can condemn them when they admit they would do the same thing.
Uh huh.

ETA- I can criticize all I want, thanks.

You disagree?
Yep. I disagree that anywhere near a majority of Christians agree with whatever kind of malarky you're talking about. There's the fact that our religion actually doesn't believe in what you're talking about. So, if any actually do what you're talking about they're not following the faith. I know. You'll start posting verses from the Old Testament next. That's nice. that has nothing to do with the faith presented in the New Testament, et cetera. The vast majority of Christians aren't doing such things anyway, and those that do are condemned by other Christians. How many Christians are out there committing atrocities IN THE NAME OF THEIR FAITH IN CHRIST?

However, huge swaths of groups like ISIS are continually recruiting people into their group and committing crimes SPECIFICALLY IN THE NAME OF THEIR RELIGION. ISIS is the most recent and deadly of these types of groups in that specific religion. Are most Muslims doing that? No. However, when you've got THAT MANY PEOPLE DOING SUCH THINGS IN YOUR FAITH, there is a HUGE problem, and you CAN'T seriously go around blaming other people and making them the bad guys and bigots for taking those folks at their word (that they're following their Islamic faith).

But if you believe God told you to kill someone you would do it?
That's an idiotic question, because God wouldn't tell me to kill anyone. It directly conflicts with what God has already told people in the faith that was revealed to us. If I listened to such a voice it wouldn't be God telling me to do it. One would have to be completely ignorant of the faith and not have Christ in them in the first place if they were following such a command.

Which is the whole point of the OP. The author was saying she disagrees that anywhere near a majority of Musilims agree with whatever kind of malarky ISIS is talking about.

Then that means Christian theology makes Christians terrorists. You can't have it both ways.

What kind of a deduction is that ?.If christians who commit terrorist acts quote their theology in support of their acts then you have a case that christian theology makes them terrorists.

Okay. I don't disagree with that.

You're not telling me now that I shouldn't judge you based on what other Christians have done and said are you?
At the risk of being a smart aleck, isn't that what you've always done on these boards anyway?

You're saying that these people who told me that they would kill others in the name of their God aren't following their faith?
You said it and I don't disagree.

And you're saying I should consider that different members of a religion may act or believe differently than others? Again, you missed it.
Again, I didn't. I'm saying the following- I'll repost it for you. 'I think this is done because ISIS is doing things IN THE NAME OF THEIR RELIGION. When other people, of any faith (including Christianity), commit crimes they generally don't do them IN THE NAME OF THEIR RELIGIOUS FAITH. Some non-Muslims may do this too, but it isn't nearly as often. It is disingenuous to pull out the 'bigot' card on those that take these Muslim offenders at their word. Of course, I fully expect the usual suspects around here to ignore this inconvenient truth.'

Did you also just tell me that I should disregard the commands of God in a huge section of the Bible?
Take your arguments to the Jews. They're the ones that have bound themselves to follow the Old Testament. Christians don't even interpret the Old Testament the way you're assuming anyway.

But you're not going to condemn them.
Sure I do.

Are there Christians in this thread who quoted their theology in support of terrorist acts ?.
I know it is taxing on your part to engage in discussion based on facts but I am willing to give benfit of doubt.

Muslims who take Islam seriously in all aspects become terrorists like ISIS or Taliban or Al Qaeda.
Absolutely, because Mohammed was a terrorist.
While some "Christians" commit violent acts in the Lord's name, in no instance does Jesus condone such actions. To the contrary, Mohammed was a murderer who taught that those who renounce Islam should be killed. The Son is glorified in Heaven while the false prophet will be tormented in Hell. Accept it or reject it as you wish.
