We have a line outside our North facing window that looks similar, regularly with a line of birdsLooks like a picture from the movie by Hitchcock called "The Birds"![]()
I realized the other day that I haven't seen a sparrow in months. It made me sad and a little fearful. So I have some birdseed coming and I hope that is the only reason why they are gone. We have doves and mocking birds.
We are in the early 70's and moving to 80 by the end of the week. Unheard of in January. Usually in the 60' A drop of rain for the whole year and the hottest Summer that I can remember. Really strange altogether.
In the UK we have a mixture, rain at the moment and lots of itIn my neck of the woods is has generally been just below freezing at night and just above freezing during the day.
As a Brit I would love your snow HisCrossMyPeace - I much prefer it to the rain we have now.Be patient, musicalpilgrim. The Norwegian weather forcast just suggested an export of our local snow weather for at least Scotland and possible UK within a week's time.
And here I come saying today was 35C rising over the next fee days to 41C Sunday and 42C Monday.
I don't like Summer anyway but this year it hadn't been too bad, at least the nights cooled down and we could get some relief.
Over the weekend the nights are still going to be around 20C, which makes for uncomfortable for sleeping.
Send us some rain, it is just tinder dry here.
Lake effect snow squalls late this afternoon and this evening. Additional snow squalls Friday and Friday night. Locally heavy snow squalls have developed over Georgian Bay and will move across the area this evening. Locally heavy snow and reduced visibilities in blowing snow will make travel difficult at times. Travelers should consider changing their travel plans accordingly. Up to 15 cm of new snowfall will be possible under these snow squalls before they move south of the area tonight. After a brief lull tonight, additional local snow squalls are expected Friday and Friday night. Additional snowfall amounts from these squalls could exceed 30 cm by Saturday morning. ### Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.
