Well; here in the PNW; if it isn't typhoon storms & earth quakes on the coast, freezing temps with thick fog--like the last few days; it's air stagnation.
Altho it's sunny; the wind has went to zero; which can be bad for those with allergies; like me; as the wood smoke from home stoves; can fill up our lower Willamette valley.

Went in town this morning (30 miles one way) and it was cold, foggy, damp; smoky; and no wind; but other then that it was a great day!

It seems like endless rain - I wish we could send it out to you coffee4u! We hear news of the fires in Australia and pray that they can be brought under control and that you get rain soon. 
Praying that you get fresh air soon mnorian - you seem to get some quite severe weather.

We have another "hazardous weather condition" this week; and it's a "Hydrologic outlook" link. I didn't know water (hydro) could be logical?
It says we are going to get buckets of rain thru Saturday! Who would of thunk it; here in the PNW!

FLOODING FOR SOME PORTION OF SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST
OREGON...
A prolonged atmospheric river event will bring moderate to heavy
rain rates beginning Wednesday night potentially continuing
through Saturday. Liquid equivalent precipitation amounts during
this period could range from 2" to 4" for the interior lowlands
with 3" to 8" or more along the Coast Range and Cascades. At this
time, the North Oregon Coast Range and the South Washington
Cascades appear to receive the focus of precipitation. However,
these atmospheric river events are notoriously difficult to
precisely predict more than 24 to 36 hours in advance. Further
complicating the issue, Cascade snow levels will rise from about
3500 feet Wednesday night to above 6000 feet by Friday evening.
Areas that do receive a prolonged period of moderate and heavy
rainfall will likely experience significant rises on area rivers
and streams. The greatest concern will be on rivers and
tributaries that do not have flood control reservoirs.

That sounds tough mnorian (although I like your humorous way of presenting it ).
We've actually had a rain-free day here, which was wonderful as the previous downpours have made their way into the house, in a couple of places, and I've been drying the walls with a hair-dryer. More rain due later this week so more wall-drying I expect. Repairs to broken gutter due Saturday if fine - I'm praying for fine!
In view of Tom's posts I'm thinking of moving to Oklahoma! (At least at this time of year.)
