  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's the weather like where you are? (10)

Hey guys, sorry I haven't updated you lately.
Spring has finally sprung up here in the far North, was 74F and sunny today, but a 15 mph wind.
We hopefully had our last frost a couple nights ago.
Will be mowing grass in another couple of days for the first time.

We've had a short pattern of high 80s and low 90s over the last several days. The forecast is the same for the next several days. I must also add that we've gotten rain numerous times over the last few days. Thank you Lord.

In the 80's today. I have to take my walks early because of the warm temperatures. Earlier there was a little bit of lightning and rain.

We're in a cycle of high 80s and low 90s. We're having regular small rains that we give thanks for in Central Oklahoma.

Pleased that you're getting rain, Tom, as I know you say that it's needed where you live.

Here we've had some very nice, dry, warm weather. I'm enjoying it, whereas I used to dread it. I think the Lord has healed my over-sensitivity to the sun's radiation.

Praise God for answered prayer in both cases. :)

I give thanks that we're supposed to get more rain tonight. I'm a city boy, so I don't understand everything about water. I just pray when farmers and ranchers ask for prayers for rain. I do know that it's more complicated than just surface water. I might get part of this wrong, but I'll try anyway. There are various structures underground called aquifers, and farmers and ranchers use them for their wells and irrigation when there isn't enough rain for the surface. I'll just say that the aquifers have to be replenished also, and it takes a lot of rain to do that if the aquifers have been used too often without rain. It's really an amazing system that God has designed for the water that we need.

I'd be happy to have a farmer or rancher explain this better. Regardless, thank you Lord for our water.
