  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

What a day. Most of it was spent rebuilding an app with different tools. Others in the lab were cool with me doing this, despite the fact that it was more of a lateral move. No new features added, but most of the old ones are still there. Hopefully, we won't need to rely as much on a big-name company that recently laid off their entire XR team. This change may work better for us in the long run. Especially in terms of scripting for less experimental components.

I lifted weights tonight, as I try to do at least twice per week, but couldn't go mountain biking earlier because of my hours. I'm so looking forward to Spring and having time to do outdoor things after work. The weather is starting to feel like it, and the days are getting longer, but more snow isn't out of the question. Not that I'm in a rush. It's more important than ever to be mindful while juggling multiple projects for others. Routines can take a while to settle in, and things are moving in that direction. Although I'm not stressed, there's an element of "make it or break it" in the air. Or maybe it's "break it to make it" at this point considering how many iterations of projects I seem to have in my personal and professional life. Often requiring testing and further revisions.

Thankful is the word that I would use. I'm thankful for these opportunities and that they're hooked into my intrinsic motivation. Somebody at work asked if this is still fun for me. If it's challenging enough... which is a good way to look at it. Yes is my answer. Just the right amount, I suppose.

It seems to be the same person who's writing them, so maybe on the one hand you have to admire their dedication. But the blurb for all of them reads "We scoured the web to look at the hard evidence to determine the question you’re asking…Is x a Christian Band?". Who's asking that question?
I just like music that I like. There are Christian musicians in secular bands, secular musicians in Christian bands, bands whose members may all be Christian but their music doesn't focus on the subject, and secular bands that just find Christian symbolism appealing enough to use in their music.

I s/ give up something for Lent but I don't know what!
Not sure I’m giving to give up anything. I try to do everything in moderation as is. I think I’m going to fast on Wednesdays & Friday’s tho. Now what kind of fast???? No food & water at all? No meat? Hmmm.

(I don't really know believers who give up something for Lent other than Catholics (I used to during school know non-Catholics who did) so that's why I'm posting here, to see if there's non-Catholics who do something for Lent.)

What's everyone up to? I'm bored!
I'm bored too.

My vacation is coming to an end. It was great the first few days, but then I realized I was lonely, depressed, and don't have a life.

It's my birthday weekend! Going to spend the day with family tomorrow and then there's our annual chili cookoff at church on Sunday! Going to be great and the weather will mostly cooperate.

Every now and then, I see men online stating that men supposedly aren't "allowed" to have preferences in women. Who even says that? It must be an internet thing. In my entire lifetime, I've never even heard people IRL suggest that men can't or shouldn't have preferences. It's so weird. Not only are we allowed to have preferences, it's important that we do. For our mental, physical, and spiritual health. Like what parallel universe are they living in? Of course we should have preferences and standards. So should women. We should realize that nobody is perfect, including ourselves, being realistic and making allowances for that but this is basic stuff.

That is crazy.

It must be a woke thing or something.

Saddened to hear Dr. Michael Heiser passed away today. He taught me a lot about the unseen realm, which he is witnessing right now!
May he dwell with the blessed.

I gave up drinking, and I plan to be more prayerful this Lenten season. :)

(So far my body does feel a little weird- but good).

Everyone, if you would please take the time to read and pray for past singles member Someone's Angel, if not help financially. It's been tough for them for a really long time, unfortunately, but they've been hanging in there somehow. :(
