I'm learning how to have a good relationship with food. Had a really great day, ate well within my allowed calories, but I still feel like I was cheating on my diet. I don't know why I think I have to starve myself to be successful. I know I'll do much better if I can lose weight in a reasonable amount of time instead of super fast.

I went ahead just now and ordered three of the plushies, a Goomba, Cheep Cheep, and red Toad. There are dozens of these things available. I had better not go crazy. :p

Whenever I think about "black bean noodles" it reminds me of my favorite Korean movie "Castaway on the Moon"! ^_^

I don’t really think history, science, algebra 2, etc. is worthless b/c at minimum it teaches how to work with others, deal w/ problems, manage stress, etc. But I think we need to go back to allowing child labor. Cut the school day in half & keep it to essentials. The rest of the ‘school’ day should be working productively. Child labor laws made sense when working conditions were poor, but they’ve improved dramatically since.

Could someone explain the controversy surrounding Lauren Daigle? I hear her on Christian radio stations. I think I've heard her on secular radio stations too, which is weird to me. I've seen a couple times online her getting criticism from Christians & want to know why. Thanks!

She said she didn't know if homosexuality was a sin because people she loves are gay.

Just because we live on the corner does not give the snowplow the right to pile up all of the snow in front of our house and just drive away like it's nothing. Jeez!

It's about a depressed guy who tries jumping off a bridge to end things but wakes up washed on a deserted island in the middle of the river in the city and learns to survive on his own and find hope, and also meets someone in the most unlikely way! It's cute, sweet, heartwarming, and funny! He thinks about black bean noodles a lot in it, so that's why it always reminds me.^_^

I know a lot in the Singles section get annoyed about End Times chat, but what annoys me is the old-earth vs young-earth debate. I think it's important, but as long as we can agree on the basics (God creating the Earth somehow & man sinning), let's just move on.

This is going to be an odd comment, but I'm odd so it's not odd. I have had a raging toothache for two days, and I can't see my dentist until April. It's starting to calm down so I'm hoping it will pass until then.

At any rate, I cooked this evening, my sister is chowing down, and I haven't eaten a thing. I tell her that I've had a raging toothache that won't let me eat. She, full of concern, offers several herbal remedies that will surely cure my pain. I'm grateful for the concern but notice she is gobbling away as she empathizes with my plight.

Here's the thing: I have noticed over and over again, no one can enter into our suffering with us. They can empathize with us, they can listen and support us, but we must suffer our own pain, on our own.

Obviously, having a toothache is a mundane sort of suffering and mostly no cause for alarm. But I take these instances to remind myself of the reality. You cannot enter into my suffering, and I can't enter into yours. But we do understand and give what support we have to give. The question is: how do I suffer alone?

There is no doubt that faith helps, but don't think faith will stem the tide of suffering. At its best, faith will show us that going through suffering, come hell or high water, is the key. This is a hard lesson to learn, which is why I practice with small things, like toothaches. :)

Be safe and be well, friendliest folks of CF.
