The first few times I ever met anyone from online it was very nerve wracking, especially if I didn't know them for a while! For me I tend to like to get to know someone well enough to feel somewhat comfortable with them before meeting. I also have certain guidelines for myself to help reduce my anxiety, such as meeting in a public place that I know well or feel comfortable at. I also let someone else know where I am going, who I am meeting, and what time I plan to be back and if I decide to stay longer to text or call them to let them know. This has helped me a lot. And most importantly, if I don't feel comfortable or safe with someone that it is time for me to leave and I am never obligated to stay. I think someone who is genuine and good for you will be understanding of these things and want you to feel comfortable too so they won't pressure you into anything.
