It got below 10, I think it dipped as low as 3, with wind chill in the negatives.

Welcome to the new wacky world of global warming.. lol.

Yeah, that’s one of the platforms of the Democratic Party that I appreciate. That and racial equality.

--- I went to gym. Ugh, legs are so freakin boring.

--- My mom's trying to call. I talk to my parents once a week. I'm not in the mood today. I feel like they betrayed me. If they had sought me help for anxiety when I was in high school or below, I wouldn't be in this mess. They didn't believe in getting me help (long story). They're still hard to talk to about emotional problems. It's just not something they understand.

----Ugh, after company was over all day, & church Sunday, I took a nap this afternoon. It's already 630. My house feels like a mess but I want to just relax. I guess I have all week to clean it. Tomorow tho I have more company coming over.

Why is it too late? Have you received a death sentence? :p
For this, feels like it.
Sorry, I shouldn't joke like this because you are obviously in great emotional pain, but I'm not sure what to say. Have you lost all hope entirely? What makes today different from just a few days ago when you posted more optimistically in your thread?
It's okay. You can make jokes like that about it. It's been such a problem for me, it just kind of rolls off.

What's different from today? I've been pessimistic about it for such a long time, it won't flip to full optimism overnight.

You can choose to be optimistic, feelings are just that.

Often times my parents don’t seem to understand either, but with OCD, depression, anxiety, etc. nobody can really understand us but us, or others who have suffered the same thing.

I need to bring several guitars to Guitar Center, because many are all acting weird. I’ve kind of had to resort to my Epi LP that’s permanently tuned to drop D :grimacing:

In what ways are they acting weird?

There are lots of great online tutorials for working on guitars. You can also order all of the tools for doing your own guitar setups. If you choose to go that route, you can potentially save yourself time and money in the long run. Plus, you'll be able to do setups for friends. And who knows, you might even end up building your own guitars from parts. I've assembled a Jazz Bass and a Telecaster that way. The bass was mostly a learning experience. It works well enough, but I love the Tele. Being able to choose the components allowed me to build my ideal electric guitar.

A Les Paul is another animal, as they have a set neck, but LP-style guitar kits are out there. Setups are similar for other guitars, though. If you can change strings, adjust the truss rod, and raise and lower the bridge, that will get you most of the way there. Having a set of nut files, and knowing how to use them, also helps. You might want to check out Dave's World of Fun Stuff on YouTube, and watch how he works on guitars.

For luthier tools and other hardware, StewMac is a good place to start. Amazon and eBay are also good places to find parts.

I wouldn’t touch the electronics with a 10 foot pole. Some of my guitars have locking tuners on them, as I do not feel comfortable changing strings on regular tuners. I don’t think I’m luthier material.

And to answer your question, the pickups keep cutting out or dropping in volume. It may just be the switches, but I may also be internal issues.

Dude, I really hope you realize how amazing it is that you still do stuff like going to the gym despite how you feel. Seriously. Keep at it! Not everyone who feels the way you do has the motivation to better themselves. I know it doesn't seem like it, but you have been blessed.

I feel like they betrayed me. If they had sought me help for anxiety when I was in high school or below, I wouldn't be in this mess.

You don't know this. Catching it early doesn't always help, trust me. There are quite a few people in my family with severe anxiety, and some of them have been treated since childhood. It doesn't always make a difference.

They didn't believe in getting me help (long story). They're still hard to talk to about emotional problems. It's just not something they understand.

I 100% get you. Mental illnesses like depression and anxiety are very difficult for people to understand if they've never experienced it themselves. People like to say things like "snap out of it", and "can't you just stop worrying?". They don't realize how unhelpful and hurtful these empty words are. But don't you think your parents probably meant well? I'm sure they never wanted you to suffer.

For this, feels like it.

No, it was insensitive. I'm sorry. I knew I shouldn't have posted it. Is there something you could do right now that would bring you joy and take your mind off your troubles? What gives you hope?

What's different from today? I've been pessimistic about it for such a long time, it won't flip to full optimism overnight.

Of course not. But you were very optimistic the other day, and now you are very down on yourself. Maybe it is just the way you are posting that is making it come across like you were more optimistic than you really felt?
