CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Also, too many dang dogs in this house. I have four right now in total that I am babysitting. My own dog Tallulah, the mean old Parker Posey canine equivalent Molly, Sadie, and the usual dachshund from next door Angel.
They are all actually being nice and well-behaved right now, though, keeping to themselves in each room they like to hang out in without fuss (Molly actually did not snarl and bark at me when she sees me out of her peripheral from the den). I go to look in on each every now and again. Angel is under my bed, Molly and Sadie are lying on the den couch, and Tallulah is sulking on her little Princess throne (Mom's bed) as she does half the time when other dogs are in the house and she feels she isn't getting all the attention.

No idea. It was a few streets away, it sounded.
It was actually somewhat comforting to hear that inviting little jingle again, though.
I am sure being an ice cream man is no small or petty profession as it may seem at first glance, after all. Think of how many kids whose summer days you make happy by being the guy who provides ice cream to them, right?
... Unless you are that one rare homicidal ice cream man who seeks vengeance upon children instead of drawing out their happy smiles, like Clint Howard.
You really gotta hand it to the man, actually. Seriously, he seems like such a good sport, embracing his peculiar looks and thus willingly taking on roles in schlocky movies that exploit his physical appearance.

Just got a call from my mom that they are going to put our dog down cause he's too old. They are deciding if they bring him back for a few hours to spend some time with him at home before he gets put down. I think I heard my dad crying in the background...
He was our first dog, a great pal, a great guard dog and part of the family. I love him and will miss him.

Sorry to hear this, Mr. Moe. This has not been a good week for dogs at all, apparently.
But you can always remember the good times with him. What was his name, may I ask? And what kind of dog was he?

If I may interject something a bit more light-hearted at such a time, did anyone else here watch that monster movie segment that came on TNT late at night as a child? It was back in the 90's? With this guy hosting named Joe Bob Briggs?
I just now got reminded of that when I stumbled across the Angry Video Game Nerd's interview with him on YouTube. I'm only halfway into the video right now but it doesn't appear to have any swearing, so I think it's safe to post.
No lie. I used to think this dude was actually Norm MacDonald from SNL until seeing this video and being reminded of the movie marathon segment that Joe Bob Briggs hosted.
They just ... look a lot alike to me.
