I received a variation on the Microsoft support scam call. "Robert" claimed to be from my telephone company and said that my Internet line was corrupted. But they're not my ISP, so I decided to press him as to him why my ISP weren't the ones contacting me, and he eventually hung up.

lol had someone similar call my mom long time ago, claimed he worked for microsoft (thick indian accent), there was something wrong with my mom's software yada yada, I grabbed the phone and said, "What are you talking about? She doesn't even have a laptop or a computer?" (my mom has a laptop lol). He then got quiet and hung up.

My guess would be that an arachnoid is a creature that shares many physical and biological similarities to common arachnids (spiders) without falling into the exact same taxonomic classification as arachnids due to some major differences.
