I'm sorry, SK! It's nothing against you, I promise!!

You are too kind to be conscientious of that, Chelsea. I assure you I wasn't being too serious. ^-^

I'm sorry, SK! It's nothing against you, I promise!! It is just what was on my mind at the time... that I really don't like this season very much, that's all! :confused2:
I'm sure you're not alone, there's lots of people who don't like winter so much. I love @SarahsKnight response though it makes good light of the situation. I used to hate winter also because I have to plow snow, but then one winter it clicked in my head that I should embrace it and have fun. So at the end of a shift, I went home and built a snowman and took a picture posing with it. That was more than 10 years ago and I have found more activities in the winter to have fun with. Last winter I found out about balloons and making ice formations with color dye. That was so fun and I plan to make it again this year.GarminConnect_20210219-175710.jpg

When I first moved up north from Texas, snow was amazing! In all of my 13 years at the time, it had never snowed where I lived in Texas. We might've gotten a freeze or an icing a time or two, but never measurable snow. So, those first few here, I was memorized!

All these years later, I'm in the category of hating winter. I need to do what you've done and find a way to enjoy it. I guess my last best memory of winter was riding my dad's snowmobile. That was a lot of fun. I'm not impacted too much by the cold temps, but I get Seasonal Affective Disorder. We get a lot of lake effect clouds for a large portion of the season and the sun sets at 5 PM, it's horrible. I also need color, so when you spend several months where the ground is white, the sky is white, there's very few birds and very little sun, it just gets me down. Thankfully, we've had sun the past few days.

He's one county over and 29 years old. I let him know, to be clear that I will not go on a date with him and that I don't have interest in him. He said he understands. I think he just needs guidance, because he's tired of so many girls his age turning him down and his last relationship the girl using him.

Prayers are appreciated, I wish I could refer him to someone but he definitely needs a good godly mentor in his life. He's building his house on his parents property right now.. which is I think a good move for his independence.
Honestly, that's a common problem that I don't see a good solution for. People say "wait to become more established" but that's not really a solution. It's kicking the can 5 years down the road, and money doesn't solve his real problem with women.

I agree. I think one of his biggest issues is communication. A text he shared with me from a woman sometime ago basically boiled down to that she didn't see him having many passions. Nothing that separated him from the other suitors she had. She ended up with somebody else and he was really hurt. His texting is very awkward too, and sounds like he has a little bit of an intellectual disability. But talking on the phone with him, it's not like that.

He's got a good heart and a Christian and tries to be considerate, but something is off and I'm not sure what. I still have never met him in person and I think that will be the best thing. Just hopefully he won't have more interest in me than as a Christian sister. I've had that in the past with younger guys, but not this young.

Not as productive as I would like but it was a good Saturday to not have to get called in for snow plowing. An ice storm is coming in tonight, but I put a snow vacation request in for this weekend and got approved.

Christmas lights are at least off the bushes and outside and sitting in the garage to eventually be stored away in the basement. A neighbor whose son came over to cut a tree for free and I gave cookies and some other stuff to dropped off the same containers with more cookies for me.

And it's been interesting to see the responses from the people I had let know that I was not interested in. I think I'm going to save 50% don't respond at all and just look at the my profile. One person said why even respond at all. I think I'm going to have to call the dating app since they have not responded and I've had technical difficulties after unblocking as many as I could. One guy 10 years younger than me that is a theologian looked at my profile who I had blocked some time ago. We had exchanged text messages but he just dropped the ball and never went through with setting things up, I think it's because he was in the middle of a move from Chicago to the middle of Michigan. I can't see his messages and it also makes me wonder if there's more people before August of last year that can see my profile now but the messages are gone. Which means I have no way of seeing if the guy I went on dates with last May is going to be able to see my profile.

Going to finish up the rest of my workout with strength training, it was a hard run on snow and ice for 20 minutes. Then maybe I'll move on to the Christmas tree and getting the ornaments off. Definitely need to put the nativity scene away. Both of these take up a lot of space.
Hey, the Christmas lights aren't supposed to come down until Easter!

Today went well all things considered. Even though there was only two of us, we managed to take care of business. God helped helped me stay focused, and keep up a high level of energy through each crisis and fire. Lately, I've been very fatigued, and been finding difficult to stay focused. Been a long while since I felt "on the ball" like I did today.

It's kinda dumb, but I do feel a little like I perform better in crisis than I do under normal circumstances. Maybe I'm not disciplined enough. If I know I don't need to stay focused, and keep moving from fire to fire to fire-- if I can get away with maybe leaving that thing for tomorrow-- or calling that person back later-- filling out that paperwork another time, etc-- if I know it isn't threat level midnight, maybe I have a tendency to be a little more lax.

Debated over and over again whether to sleep a little bit more. And even as getting ready if I should do Church online because of the ice outside and catching up on my Bible study quiet time. But in the end I have decided to go to church in person. It's best to take the effort and also continue to improve my self-care routines and getting ready for church on time. I want to bring good things to a future relationship. That includes the discipline of appearance and being on time. Also I got a free pass for this weekend and that I didn't have to be called out for snow plowing, so I have no excuse to miss church. I am blessed!
