  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

OMM: Why is eating healthy so expensive?!?!?! I am going to have to go price shopping on items like meat, almond flour, and a few other things. In other news, I am back from the grocery store and I am excited about the changes.

It is expensive, but on the plus side, you may not have to eat as much quantity-wise if you’re getting good quality nutrients.

 Turns out I misread the original post. What I said in terms of first/second cousins was correct, but you're it saying that she's a first cousin once removed.
Oops I didn't even see your post until now. But yeah what you said was right. If you share the same grandparent you are 1st cousins, share the same great grandparent you are 2nd cousins, etc.

That's impressive that you kept track of family to that extent - 10th cousin is quite some distance away on the family tree.
We shared an ancestor, and I just asked by how many generations, and figured it out that way. :D Either her parents and me were 10th cousins, or my parents and her were 10th cousins.. thus the once removed thing. ^_^ I really can't remember now. But apparently that ancestor has a lot of descendants in the US... so I have a lot of cousins. ^_^

I was waiting to buy the latest Stephen King novel until payday, but my mom just surprised me with it!
I know I’m a Negative Nancy, but he’ll never do better than Pet Sematary, in my eyes :cat:

Watched the movie, "The Mist" when it came out, i think stephen king wrote it?! not sure...but it's one of those movies that i hated lol just cause the ending sucked so bad (but maybe because I like good endings type of person). I just hated the ending with a passion! *lights up torch and gathers a crowd

Yeah the movie was from Stephen King's book, but the ending was indeed changed. I actually loved it because it was shocking and so incredibly different than any ending I've ever seen.

This is a great point about doing keto. Once you get into it, your appetite will drop significantly. @Travelers.Soul , as I shared in my PM, I only eat twice a day now and it's comfortable. I rarely get hungry.

If she is your mother’s neice and you share grandparents she is your first cousin. But it sounds like she is actually your mother’s first cousin because they share grandparents. So she would be your first cousin one time removed.
That said... those relitives I still just call cousins. Or I’d say my mom’s cousin.
I had a relitive that was my grandma’s cousin or my great grandma’s cousin... it was way too confusing. So she would send us birthday cards and say from “Cousin ....” :)

Random fact... a bit ago I met my 10th cousin one time removed. We were both entering the same college and met at one of those new student things.

Oh, thanks. .... For some reason after it is explained clearly I still find it too complicated to remember correctly. ^_^

.... sometimes the only way to make it through the movie is with the help of Rifftrax.

Whatever happened to just good ol' fashioned booze?

I no longer drink.

If I did I would 100% fall back into my old smoking habit as I was able to smoke without drinking but I could NEVER drink without smoking.

Again? I just rebuilt after the last torching.

Which means it's now time for another one. There's no point in torching a structure that's not complete as the blaze won't be all that impressive.
