During the pandemic I created Wacky Wednesdays as a way to bring cheer to my friends and their kids by dressing up with a theme and sending photos by text. By Fall I ended it because it was a lot to keep up with. But I think I'm going to bring it back again this year. It's a nice way to exercise my creativity and photography.

Thank you. It was created for kids but I don't think they got into it too much. My girl friends appreciated it a lot more. And maybe one teenager.

A brother in Christ and dear friend sent this to me tonight. I found some useful reflections and he told me to pass it on to maybe some friends that may need to hear it.

For some, this V-holiday can be kinduva downer. It's easy for some singles out there to fall on the belief that at this time of year, and other holidays that we are the only single person without a mate/companion and then wallow for a time in discouragement.

1. While it would be absolutely wonderful to have a mate we still know that having a mate doesn't solve all of our problems - we all have friends who by getting married have ushered in a new set of problems.

2. I guarantee that all of us who are single have many blessings to enjoy, and should wonder why we as sinners were given such blessings.

3. Ponder what we have instead of what we don't have.

4. Satan likes to see us depressed because it's hard to be a light to others when we are saturated with our own gloominess.

5. Hope - God has given us reason to be joyous and to hope; both for near term and long term therefore we can celebrate hope everyday.

Definite agree on this one (not that I disagree with the other points, mind you ). I decided this year, that, it's enough that there is a lady out there who I think is wonderful at all, and that she seems to treat me well despite not being in a position to return my feelings (or having had any interest even back when I first confessed my crush and she was single, anyway, which I certainly understand, because I'm kind of a dork ). Ultimately, that's still more than what many people on this day have, even if I cannot - and should not, certainly, under these circumstances - do anything for her.

Going to buy a new 4k tv.. didn't do enough research on this one and went too cheap.. LG.. arghh.. In short words.. the pixel structure is RGBW.. and short story it's not real 4k..

Probably going to spend at least 1k this time around. OLEDs are nice.. but I don't want to deal with burn in so QLED seems the way to go. Ironically after buying a 4k TV I've learned so much about the specifications and what to look for. Just a warning.. the price tag might look nice.. but there are much better options out there.

Still though.. the picture quality was nice.. but I want true 4k for when I can finally buy a PS5.

In sad news I'm scheduled to work with that one woman again. Not sure if she had a hand in that.. I mean I'm going to work with her sometimes.. still.. what a bummer.

Also on Friday she almost blew up on me for not taking on her valentine day cookies. Thing isn't I didn't even know they were from her. She spent the latter half of the day wondering why I didn't take one.. move on from whatever weird thing you have for me. I'm not worth it.

The relational needs of a child of 10 aren’t the same when they’re 20 or 30. Time and experience impact their wants. Some needs help us flourish. Others are a response to pain, fear, and insecurity. They’re the counterbalance of coping and defense mechanisms that allow us to interact within our comfort zone.

You asked what God was waiting on and I replied He isn’t. I don’t believe He’s withholding a companion or waiting for me to do something or reach a certain point. That’s debunked through unions at various stages of readiness and maturity.

My experiences tell a different story. I dated before my reconciliation and after its commencement. Connecting with the opposite sex wasn’t aided or hindered by faith.

Which suggests I’m the holdup. I’m putting on the breaks relationally. Not Him.

That’s difficult to swallow if you need to believe otherwise. If you’re unable to confront your part in the dilemma you may reference God, societal changes, feminism, religion, superficiality, or a litany of reasons commonly mentioned. Save the one that counts.

I’m not single because of God or lack of opportunities. I’m single because I haven’t encountered a suitor who complements my readiness and expectations. I need someone with a similar trajectory.

I ended with a question I’ve confronted in the past. What would you do if you weren’t afraid about God? Family? Friends? Your livelihood? And so on. I’ve made radical changes in those areas. Now its time for more.

What would I do if I wasn’t afraid to love? I’d pursue the man of my dreams. The one who possesses the qualities and passions I long for. He’s the one I want.

I haven’t encountered him yet. But I will.

Valentine's day is just other day for business to make a killing so to speak.

The holiday is commercialized of course. It’s meaningful for some and that’s fine.

But it shouldn’t make us despondent. Couples spend time together on holidays. If we weather the rest (without upset) we’re responding to the ideal. The majority place a greater primacy on shared events. Special days that allow them to connect with friends and family. They’re a bigger deal for most.

Like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Summer barbecues, game nights, and so on. Commitment fosters togetherness.

This has been on my wishlist for years. I forgot about it. The music is beautiful. There’s a joyful ebb throughout and a lingering peace. A lovely way to start the day.

Which reminds me, since it's gotten so cold here in Magnolia starting last Friday night that the plants where I work couldn't even maintain function due to loss of steam power O_O, my supervisor Anthony - who is accustomed to more "guy"-related talk, shall we say, around my lab - asked in front of a few other coworkers as we were making shift exchange yesterday morning: "So, SK, who do you have to keep you warm at home over the next few days?"

Whether he meant that in a sexual sense or just a general physical one like you obviously did, I managed to think on my feet well enough to at least say this much in reply, "wouldn't you like to know?" Implying that I did have someone, and it elicited a laugh even from the one girl present, but, yeah, no lovely ladies gracing my abode any day over this winter blast period.

Someone here hosted an entire thread dedicated to each of us guys (who wished to be involved, anyway) a chance to treat a lady here who we were randomly matched with as someone special on V-day. All in the spirit of well-meaning friendship, of course, but still, it was awesome.
