  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So, a long time ago, my Mom asked me if I was in love with some particular woman and I said, "Yeah, I love her but what is it to 'be in love'?", and she seemed to weigh it for a while and then she said "It's when you can't picture yourself living without them."

Tonight, I asked her to keep the woman I'm in love with and myself in prayer, and she responded, "Oh, just be careful...guard your heart."

And I said, "What do you mean...wear a heart mask?"

She then said something like "Good word pic...a heart mask to protect yourself from getting hurt..."

And then I thought about maybe getting a nice big cow shot (vaccine) right in the ole ticker...

Okay, so I'll probably start a thread on road etiquette or something, but let me just post this here since I almost just got into it with another vehicle.

It's been a while since I've driven a gas powered vehicle so I don't have alot of empathy for you guys right now, especially since that one time when a lady hit me...I let her go, and she still had an attitude, when I could've sewed the less pleasant things out of her!

Anyways, so I'm shooting down this decline and this lady in a little red car, who has the right of way going straight...slams on her brakes when she sees me coming down the hill...

So, she now just created a nice solid obstacle right in my pathway!

Does anyone else see this...or am I in the wrong?!

So now I have to slam on my brakes...and we had some rain...and so I'm like fishtailing and I finally slide skid (still flowing though) just before smashing into her front end. And she's in the car with this shocked and devastated look on her face...and I'm still in motion so I just kinda swerve around her hood and say, "Next time just keep going...step on the gas!" And I'm gone.

So, am I wrong...or what?

How many guys actually read online dating profiles? Or even look at where the person lives? This past week has been the worst with guys that like me but are clueless that my profile has Jesus written all over it.

Yesterday was the first time that an attractive person in my own town contacted me. I didn't see anything about being a Christian but I decided to thank them for the compliment and ask a question about one of the pictures, and they disappeared. I don't know if it was a scammer or hiding something or realized their mistake after the fact.

Listening last night to my friend (a believer), helping him to sign up with other dating sites, I was surprised at his comments about attractive women without reading the profiles. I told him to choose one person to respond to, and he was going to choose ones that he found attractive (and I'm not sure these women were modest by what he was saying). And then asked what to say. I said say something about their profile, but then he started realizing that their profiles didn't match with what he wants. Ughhhhh.

I remember talking to someone I met on a forum who asked me about my posts. He shared his perspective and I was willing to compromise. But my comments said otherwise. Bloody heck, I was impressed by his diligence.

The experience taught me nothing is set in stone. There's always some wiggle room for special ones.

Hopefully from this point forward just being honest will be the best measure. I'm surprised that a scientist that's 10 to 11 years younger than me is interested. Especially since he's in a field that faith is not talked about very much.

I don't know if it is. I was just talking with somebody tonight telling him about the prime ministers wife in France. her story is really unusual. He was telling me he got contacted by someone that's 81 years old and he's 59. He was shocked.

As for myself before the age of 40 I usually had no problem with guys that were 10 years younger than me but for some reason as I get closer to 50 it feels weird and I'm more attracted to older guys. There's a guy that talks to me that's old enough to be my son, but I think he just does it because he's a Christian and he's in the local area. He's probably bored because there's not many people that are conversing with him. We mostly just talk about workouts.
