There was another thread elsewhere I am viewing where someone just now gave an alleged quote from St. Augustine in response to the subject of "soul mates". Being a conditionalist Christian I naturally strongly oppose Augustine on one hand, but mind you I can definitely agree with him here on this quote:

"Thou, O Lord, hath created us for Thyself. And our hearts are ever restless until they rest in Thee."

Even as we look forward to our future spouses and lifelong loves as our "soul mates" (especially a romantic idealist as myself may do), we must remember that, truly, perhaps God is the soul-mate to each of us.

Interestingly enough, this is something God has been teaching / reinforcing in me over the years, and was something I was seeking Him about this morning. I once heard it put: "God is our greatest need, and companionship is our greatest desire." I think there's a lot of truth to that, and certainly agree with your statement.

I do favor the concept of soul mates, and believe there's precedence for that in scripture. However, God ultimately is the one who completes us (Psalms 42:1). Without Him, we are lost. The more in love we are with our Savior and grow in awareness of His love for us, the more love we have for each other, and our companion.

I do long for the day God reveals her to me. But, it's important to learn patience first, and to learn to have God as our foundation. We were created for Him, and to fellowship with Him. That's the whole point of eternity, and what makes Heaven Heaven in the first place.

Thank you for the prayers! Admittedly, I’ve given little thought to my Beloved outside of the comments made on threads. I haven’t prayed for him in a long while. The subject never comes up outside this space. Your comment coincides with the prodding I’ve been getting as of late.

Music makes you more sociable. ~grins

We made rainsticks at school when I was in 5th grade. They had beans in them. I think that was my first experience with woodworking. We had a lot of sanding and decorating to do. Is there anything inside of yours?

I like sea shells....peas are good too!

Most of what I've seen online are cactus or bamboo rain sticks. Mine are Yucca...been working on one today!
