CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

some say it's a cat, others think it's a dragon, i thought it looked like a gargoyle...hahaha
maybe yoda???? lol i luv the effort the person placed on it though hahaah i mean also used paper cutouts for the eyes!

I was amazed by a person i met today who had this similar shade of unique eye color! I was so mesmerized, i asked if it was contacts, the person said no, i tried to guess nationality, found out was italian!

It seemed like all-too appropriate a sermon at church earlier tonight, considering how I had been thinking and feeling about some things lately.
As non-frequently attending a member as I had been over the last several years, it turned out they'd added some technology to their website lately despite being such a small church where the sermon audio is recorded and immediately transferred to the site afterward, so you can hear the entire things yourself here if you wish.

But I can summarize it for you easily enough if you don't want to go through another 40 minute sermon on top of the one you probably already had to sleep through at your own church tonight. It was titled "The Power of Oneness" and covered the first half or so of Romans 15. Of the two main points gleaned from this section, the first was about the exhortation for Christians to be accommodating to each other's weaknesses and focus on edification and doing good to their neighbor, rather than focusing on their own self-interests if it presents a conflict somehow with their "weaker" brethren. The second point was about the one of the pieces of good news about, well, The Good News. That despite the points in a good bit of earlier Romans that the doctrine of hyper Calvinism seems to rely heavily upon to support their theology of pre-destination, the Gospel is for EVERYONE. Not just Jews, not just Gentiles, and not just a certain selection of people period. And thank God for that.

When I was at dinner earlier after the sermon, I resumed reading through an area on Tumblr called "Doug Funnie's Journal", in which the author writes a summary of each episode from the entire Doug cartoon series in a tongue-in-cheek fashion about how the show only highlights how mentally unstable Doug Funnie is. (Everyone here around my age who grew up on Nickelodeon should easily remember this cartoon. )
Hah. It reminded me of how despite being off his rocker launching off into fantasy land all of the time, Doug and the show itself actually came up with some pretty awesome-sounding names, especially for the characters Doug likes to play in his hallucinations.

AWESOME NAME.
Race Canyon? The ... wow, I somehow only just now realized this after twenty years as I typed the name just now ... obvious Indiana Jones clone.
Again. AWESOME.
And then the names of the members of the town's favorite band, The Beets, like Chap Lipman and Monroe Youder?
... The greatest.

yeah the pointy ears lol and the towel underneath looks like a robe...hahaha it's kinda creepy though cause the head part is detachable, lol imagine what horror the patient would experience if it were displaced
