@Owlette just stopping by the forum today after a break from posting and saw your post. Sounds like a very stressful situation and I wanted you to know I'm praying for you. Lots of people gave great advice. I hope things work out.
Thank you for coming back to say that! Means a lot to me... I can use all the prayers I can get.

Was going to go to the beach today but now it's cloudy. Been sunny for freakin' two weeks and the first Friday I have off to go to the beach it gets cloudy.
I haven't been to the beach in the longest time, and I got a big delta conyne kite for my birthday that needs to be flown. A trip to the Outer Banks is in the works, but the weather makes planning a challenge. Plan it too far in advance virtually guarantees a hurricane, or at least overcast skies.

Going to the beach is a great idea though. I should go next weekend if I have time. :)
There’s a bike trail near one beach that I really want to try soon as well.
Cool. What kind of trail?

Dug into my thumb's hangnail at church the other week and now am paying for it. It's taking a long time to heal being I use the finger frequently. I just hope it doesn't get infected.
Nail clippers work wonders for hangnails. I used to tug at them, but that never ends well. Clippers can save you a lot of aggravation.

I wonder how much change in a person is normal when they are in a relationship. Should you always expect to be the exact same person when incorporating someone into your life? Or is it normal to change?
Some degree of change is expected, especially in terms of learning new things or picking up new hobbies, but adult healthy adult personalities remain relatively consistent through life. If the person in question a Dr. Jekyll vs. Mr. Hyde, that's not normal. If they mostly just change with the times, or modify their behavior slightly to get along in different social situations, on the other hand, that's normal.

It's also true that first impressions can be deceiving, often unintentionally so, and interpersonal dynamics are unique. We can easily build up an idea of someone in our heads that may or may not be accurate. Especially when we don't know much about them.

If you find yourself changing in superficial ways, but you still remain true to your core principles, I wouldn't worry about it. If you find yourself the things you cared deeply about, that might require some soul searching.

Miss @Owlette , all I can say is, after reading of your plight ... you have a lot more patience with your family than I would have in a case like this. Doesn't sound to me like you are reacting or sounding too angrily at all.
Ahh, I'm so glad to know that it sounds like I'm being patient with them! Thank you for saying that!!!!

You're welcome. But, yes, the fact that you even seem concerned that you were sounding too angry towards your family says a lot to me. ... But they must allow you to have your space and time with someone else who you care about.

Cool. What kind of trail?
I think it runs through a park and ends at or near the beach and is paved. I think it’s short enough for anyone to go on, but long enough to still be fun. I can’t remember how many miles it is - maybe six.
We’ve been having super cold weather here in Southern California for a couple weeks so I’ll probabaly wait until we have a warmer weekend to go.

It seems like Christians are obligated to like Christian music. When I was new Christian I though I would grow to like Christian music as I matured as a Christian and became more spritual. I thought it would be like when you hear a new song for the first time and don't like it but then you hear it again and it starts to grow on you. Nope, still don't like it. Christian music all sounds the same too me. It has the same generic sound and all the female singers sound the same. The messages in the lyrics are nice but it would have the same impact to me if it was spoken.
Is there something wrong with me?

What gets labelled as "Christian music" these days is simply the non-secular version of pop music i.e. music designed for mass appeal, which does mean that it can end up sounding generic. Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with that as it does serve a purpose, but if you're looking for something with some substance then you're not necessarily going to find it there. So you shouldn't have to feel that you're supposed to listen to something just because it's "Christian", and there's absolutely nothing wrong with not being interested in popular Christian music.

There is more than one genre in Christian music, however the majority of the stuff they play on the radio isn’t that great musically....

I feel the same way. I never cared for it and still don't. And I have to agree that there is a kind of obligation towards Christians for them to like and listen to Christian music.

Prayers please. My sister just found out she has Stage 3 kidney disease...

Absolutely. Praying.

I don't even like there is a united kingdom- it's NOT a country people, it's 4 countries sharing a monarch......

Anyway you know englandSHIRE, a lot of counties in England end in shire, for example, I use to live in HertfordSHIRE.

hundreds of people are stuck on the M80 here in Scotland, due to the weather, in the snow. Some people have been in their car for 10 hours now. Can't move at all. People who love close to the motorway have gone down and brought them food and water.

I would be going mad, in the car for 10 hours.

Luckily I keep the boys sleeping bags, and camp things in the boot of the car.

Boot of the car. Haha, I love you. :D

But seriously though, 10 hours? Good grief, that's terrible. Very kind of those people to the drivers food and drink.
