It seems like they were enthusiastic to take me back, and the job will be almost exactly the same as before, albeit with a stricter adherence to safety standards, and apparently I will need to be more of a "team player" this time according to Nel (what everyone called Greg Nelson as an insulting shorthand behind his back whenever he got on their nerves ), who, for all of his seeming enthusiasm to have me working there again and compliment on my work ethic, he claimed that one thing he did take issue with was my being "a salmon who swam upstream when everyone else was swimming downstream".
.... Um, okay. Well, I really couldn't remember being in conflict with anyone there, and this was over nine years ago, so I had no clue at first what Nel was talking about there. I guess I just had this aura of being the cool kid who went his own way (not in matters of work importance, mind you; I never disobeyed anyone or acted like i knew better than them - I was just a newbie to the laboratory setting back then), and ultimately didn't care what others thought of me if it was negative. ... Basically, I did my job well and as I was told; I just didn't bow down and kiss anyone's butt.

But I didn't let what Nel said be seen as a threat. Really, it was Greg Nelson just being Greg Nelson when he said this to me during the interview. If he ever compliments you, you really are going to have to expect some kind of criticism or warning-sounding talk to come soon afterward, something just to let you know he's still in charge. He and Bob "The Turtle" Stevens were just those kinds of guys. They believe they're in charge and they have to remind you of it in some way. I put up with it for a year once before and I am sure i can do it for another two or three, however long it is before Canada finally invites me to move there. Besides, I have an idea of what I will need to do in looking more like a "team-player" to keep him happy, mainly ... finding more time to get cross-trained. I think Nel even intends to put me in the same area of the lab as before, and that by far had the biggest workload (and everyone agreed with that), but if so, I am just going to have to find the time to set aside for going into other areas amidst the workload and try to learn those areas so I can be available if something goes wrong there. I did not do that last time and apparently all the while Nel was placing heavy importance on it. He just never came out and told me, so maybe my not doing that made me look like a non-conformist or something who didn't care about his teammates. ... Well, that was mainly because I already worked hard to make sure I wasn't letting the teammates in my own area down by doing as much as I could to set them up well for when they were coming in to relieve my shift. =/

But, yeah, I'll just try to keep that in mind for this time and sound more talkative with others and all enthusiastic for cross training. Half the crew in the lab from last time is still there, apparently. I hope they will be happy to see me again.

Flipped that pancake like the token sunglasses-wearing cool kid character in an 80's film catering to the teenage crowd would, yo. With ATTITUDE. ^-^

Are uploading pictures appearing as x's when you try to post them? Whenever I upload an image it's posting simply as a red x and not as the picture. I was wondering how they are coming across to everyone else.

Nah. I don't get that crazy in the car. I did not mind doing a little finger tapping on the steering wheel when Boston's "Peace of Mind" came on yesterday on the way in, though.

Yeah links haven't been working very well on CF for a little while now, so you have to download and upload images.

It looks like it's going to be a few weeks out. But I'm thinking about getting 15-20 dollars worth of silver dollars and heading off to the walking bridge here in the city and holding a "praise God" challenge. The objective: Give silver dollars to anyone that would be courageous enough to step up to the mic and give glory to God for anything good that's happened in their lives.

Wow. There was a beautiful young lady at the store today, apparently friends with my one boss. She came up to the counter and made eye contact with me, and we just stared into each other’s eyes for several seconds. Then, I dimly realized that my boss was asking me something. And after a few seconds, I was able to respond. But wow.

If the enemy wanted to destroy me, he could just send me a beautiful woman to whisper sweet nothings in my ear while slowly pulling me away from God.

Oh, wait. He’s already done that. But I managed to escape before I was completely doomed.
