My guess is that come this evening, @GodDoesListen55 will be out partying for two different reasons.![]()
Getting ready for a new year walk.
I don't remember that, but I do remember 2007-08. There was a lot of activity. It was comparable to what I experienced in person with singles ministry. The engagement was active, the one thing that was lacking was long lasting friendships. I did meet up with a couple and phoned a couple. How do you build a community online? The Singles forum could be in it's final days, if the current trends are anything to go by. Does anyone remember a time when there was a new post every few seconds? And when award evenings were hosted and attended by every member of the board?
In 2014 the posting frequency was overwhelming, you literally couldn't keep up. You'd be multi-quoting ten or twelve people at a time.
Singles carried CF virtually on its own.

I met a couple members from here in person years ago. I also keep in touch with several off this site. I think lasting connections can be made if members share a lot of common interests or similar outlook. It also takes some effort to keep any friendship going
It's great to do a cleaning out of social media. I spent a little time myself trying to figure out everything I would need before I took my break. This will be the longest break that I've taken from social media ever. 6 months. Of course I let others know. I had prayed and thought about it months in advance before making the decision. I'll miss out on my nephew and niece, but my sister understands and will keep me in the loop. Hopefully the time will be productive to start cleaning up old videos and photo albums.I spent much of this afternoon cleaning out old FB messages. Many were from people in groups I no longer participate in, some were folks whose accounts no longer existed or had blocked me for one reason or another, and even one person who had apparently since died.I think I should do more of the same with my standard e-mail or CF messages.
