Yeah, I'm hard pressed to go all in. I'm also lazy because I could go to my computer and have a proper engagement, but the phone is right here in my hand and I'm off work, so...

While you are out there living your best life, I am sitting here wondering how to make the best out of the life that I am living.

I'm sick of the news media describing everything as "unprecedented". It's so overused that it has become meaningless.

Amen. Here every story is "breaking news" and when I see the massive banners or hear them say it, my brain just wants to immediately switch it off.

Heaven is paradise because God’s will is continually done there. Therefore, asking for The Lord’s will to be done on Earth as it is in Heaven is asking The Lord to remove evil and replace it with good. I.e., His good will & desire transplanting rebellious evil will & desires.

Meditating on the fact that the reason Heaven is paradise is because of God is really hitting me deep at the moment. Hope it does someone else too

It's meaningless b/c nothing is unprecedented. They’re not kidding history repeats itself. New generations make old mistakes.

"What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which one can say, "Look! This is something new"?"

There’s a phrase that I heard a decade or so that really stands out to me. “it’s a sleeping giant”

Something previously ignored causing a big stir, excitement to be exact. It's a good way.

I get annoyed at people who think I don’t do anything, am boring, & never leave the house. People have no idea what I do. I find sharing w/ these people all that you do, they’re still not impressed. Don’t waste your time w/ people who think you don’t do anything & are boring -> you’ll never impress them. Just b/c I’m not a partier that doesn’t mean I never leave the house & don't have obligations to people nor do fun things w/ people. I could list all that I do - obligations & things I do for fun both on a weekly basis- & defend myself here, but for now all I’ll say is I find it difficult to just sit & relax in my house.

Christians don't have a much better attitude. It's like the only thing that'll impress them is a family w/ children that constantly occupies you. Or have a career that requires at least 60 hours a week.

Just b/c I look nerdy that doesn't mean I play video games all day! In fact, I play video games very moderately, only a couple hours a week if that, & most of that is to fulfill obligations to people who would like I play video games!

Trying to find a job I'm happier with at a place that won't require working on Sabbath is proving easier said than done.

It's always kind of sad when you generally have a good day.. but there is just one little thing that just kind of sinks it all.

At least tomorrow is Friday.

That we’re called to be joyful really jumping out at me. It’s not just a feeling or mood, it’s a calling, it’s an effect, a motivation.

Having a purely online or digital relationship with a real person is never an end in its own self. For even though you often get to know people far more intimately through this means than if you were to get to know them through the traditional modes of relationship, it would still only embolden the desire to physically see them and be with them. There’s something about a purely spiritual relationship that while it is at the core of who and what we are, we as humans desire to marry it to the physical. I think the sacrifices offered to The Lord before Christ's sacrifice sum this up perfectly. And also the future resurrection; that man is not only a soul or spirit, that he is not man at all if he is not united with a body.

I find the relationship aspect of what I mentioned before shares similarities of the relationship with God. That the more He opens my eyes to who He is, the more I want to hear His voice on my ears and see Him with my eyes. To hold His hand and hug Him.

Marriage and Celibacy/Singleness are not apposed nor at odds. Both require grace from The Lord in order to walk down each respective path (Matt 19:8-11, Matt 19:6). Therefore, nobody can boast about either as being higher or greater in stature or devotion than another; as both are gifts from The Lord (1 Cor 7:7). Also, I personally believe that to stay beholden to a single partner in marriage is to be the equivalent of single or celibate. I cannot state it with absolute certainty but I personally believe that they are the same thing in essence or at least relatable in essence, as they are both designated desires of The Lord for His children. That equivalent essence being: That to be married to a person without committing adultery (Matt 5:32) is to be single and celibate before The Lord and vice versa. Also that nobody can boast about either course. For example, there are people who have who have been married, like Martin Luther, who have been used powerfully by The Lord. I don’t use the example of the Apostles, though they are examples of higher caliber, because I wanted to use an ordinary man (faults and all) equivalent to us in the modern day.

Therefore, being married or celibate does not somehow make you more holy, better or greater than another soul. For God loves all of His children and has died, risen & ascended to remove all of our sin; those sinful transgressions which renders us guilty of transgressing the whole law by breaking a single one (James 2:10).

Sorry for the long ramblings on this light-hearted thread. If they're too long or not in keeping with the nature of it then please correct me. Unfortunately for me what's 'on my mind' is either crappy jokes or long form discussion, which doesn't really translate to the singles only part of CF . Anyway I'm taking a break for about a week, so I hope you all have a good week yourselves & enjoy the rest of the weekend. God bless and please pray for my neighbour & her family who is having a funeral for her husband on the 10th (9th for Americans; Aussies live in the future ) and also for my brother who has contracted a severe case of gastro and may have to be hospitalised very soon.
