  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

I want to start wearing a tie to church but neither church I attend no one wears one other than the pastor + elders & deacons I don't think.
Just do it mate. There's nothing wrong with dressing up a little bit. At the end of the day it's a tie, if you like it then wear it :)

Before when I was an entrenched Atheist for 8ish years I used to be consumed by the nihilistic dread of death but since The Lord has saved me when I think about it now it's more of a tragedy than an impending threat of non-existence. I wonder how many little things akin to this have changed inwardly that I just don't notice? Like how many shifts of perspective that were plaguing me before has God transformed? and how many do I just take for granted? When I imagine the varying degrees in which this is the case for every person who has ever existed and exists right now, it really amplifies The Lord's grace and patience.

I think it's one of those things that when we die we will see just how full the transformation from death to life was and just how much we didn't understand while we're in our bodies that are influenced by sin.
Life really is completely meaningless w/out God. Who cares if someone says 'oh just be happy you have the gift of life, the 1 in nigh-impossible odds you exist, be thankful!' Someone can just as easily say 'nope, it's all a waste.' Who's right & who's wrong?

A tragedy??? That sounds like a very good problem to have to me.

It's way too :hot: outside.
How hot is it where you are? It's 13C here and I'm freezing inside with the heater on but that's probably a warm summer to you guys .

Was supposed to see Barbie tonight but my mom (who is also my babysitter) has COVID so it’s not to be.

Attempted potty training all day today and am BEYOND exhausted. :sigh:

Old fashioned potty chairs are more effective. The one I had included a tray and was comfortable. After a few days she made the connection between the urge and its absence. Once she mastered it we used the washroom.

I have a little potty that I follow him around with and then a comfy seat modifier with stairs on his big potty. He definitely understands to hold it… but he just won’t let himself go even on the potty. We’re doing the no pants method so he’s running around bare bottomed most of the day and chugging drinks… but then holds it till he’s crying. I’ve tried sitting him on the potty and making him laugh, having him blow out (we blow bubbles), gently squeezing his tummy, and pouring warm water on him to help start the stream… I got him to go a tiny bit twice today, but mostly he waits for his nap/bedtime when the diaper is back on.

His ABA therapist is supposed to come over tomorrow, so I’m hoping he can provide some additional insight. But I’m very open to other suggestions and success stories!

I sat her on the chair with a snack and put on a video. That kept her occupied.
