It doesn’t make sense to be an atheist but believe in ghosts. You see a lot of atheists who do believe in ghosts & I don’t understand why. If you’re an atheist you believe you’re just a bunch of chemical reactions, so there’s no spirit to live on.

Could ghosts be another visible sign of God’s existence – a clear indication to atheists that yes, they do have a spirit? Not all atheists believe in ghosts,, but a lot do.

I did not know that. I always heard from them that there's some "logical" explanation for ghosts and that they don't believe they're dead people.

But the truth is that ghosts are demons pretending to be dead people. If God immediately puts us into heaven or hell when we die, who are these dead people roaming the earth?

Warning: rant

I was angry/upset about some stuff earlier. I follow Laura Loomer on Telegram. She's a Jew, but she's nice to Christians and she has tried hard to save America. She had made a post about Purim, but it received a lot of the thumbs down emoji. I think it was the fake Christians that did it. You know the ones that say they're Christians but hate Jews and hate blacks no matter what. I'm so sick of fake Christians' lies. If you hate all Jews, you hate Jesus because He was a Jew and you just can't say that Jesus being a Jew "doesn't matter" or "not important".

Same here, Miss Chelsea. A 12-hour shift is enough to me ... but to have it suddenly change into a 16 ....:doh1:

Aw, I am sorry to hear that; I pray you get some well deserved rest.

I don't know how you cope with such long days all the time. :(

Encouraging coworkers on my normal crew (once they got there for the normal night shift four hours after my early arrival, that is), especially Miss Mary, definitely helped get me through the night. It also helped that my lab section was down for most of the night with the exception of about 3 hours worth of work that just sort of randomly popped in for me at one point, so I was able to just kind of relax and take helping my counterpart Mary in her lab and tidying up bits and pieces of my own section at a pretty leisurely place. But once I was out of there with my crew at 5am, oh yeah, you bet I was a zombie all the way home and throughout my morning routine at home for settling in for sleep. Since I had to come in four hours early in between shifts, that meant 12 hours Sunday night, only 8 hours at home, then 16 hours Monday night at work. So I only had about 4 hours of sleep at that time. It suuuuucked.

But at least unlike at Dr. Pepper back in Houston, I get paid ten more bucks an hour for such an oft-troublesome schedule. =/

And, honestly, that's what we should be asking my coworkers who also have families, spouses, and kids to worry about caring for when they get home from 12 hours at work.

You make a valid point.

While doing some clearing out the other day I found a book I'd bought ages ago on origami. I didn't get very far with it at the time because I struggled to find square paper, but these days it's very easy to order it online, so I'm going to give it another try.

And what about you, Chelsea? Are you doing better since Monday night? :)
Eh, I guess so; I am just trying to stay busy, that's all. Thanks for asking!

I saw one of my favorite bands the other night, along with a coworker who coincidentally had a ticket for the same show. Carpooling wasn't as weird as not carpooling would have been, so I drove. Hopefully, she didn't think the situation was date-like.

On the up-side, her best friend is apparently a guy. I'd like to think that helps our friendly banter come across as platonic (which it is as far as I'm aware).

Do you mind saying what band? Was it a good show?

They Might Be Giants

They’ve always put on a good show, in my experience, and this one was no exception.

Their current tour celebrates the Flood album, but thankfully the setlist also included newer and older material. I think their songwriting has been consistently good over the years, so I'm glad they didn't limit themselves. They were simultaneously on-point and creative with the arrangements. Band members soloed, improvised, and appeared to have a good time throughout.

Even the onstage banter was fun. John and John even talked about brutalist architecture at one point, among other seemingly random things.
