CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Actually they would. The government cannot be a promoter of any religion, groups that are not represented in any sort of religious partaking sponsored by a government funded school can sue and likely win. This is sort of why God is no longer part of our public school system instead of freedom of religion we have freedom from religion in government.

Hello @ChocolateVanilla.Hope we're able to get some sleep. It's best to work on that. I have a watch I use for tracking my sleep and worked with a coach through my insurance by phone some years ago on techniques. Blessings,

My best friend's grandpa died. They were close. I didn't really know him. Should I go to the funeral? How do you know when you should go to a funeral? He didn't go to the funerals when my grandpa's died (I'm not holding this against him, I didn't ask him to, nor cared he didn't go, & honestly, preferred he didn't go)

No, that’s a bit weird.
If your friend tells you when the funeral is and that you’re welcome to attend if you want then sure, you have a choice to make, but at the moment you haven’t been put in the position where you need to decide.

When my dad died I was disappointed my best friend didn't go to the funeral (he had to work). I personally think you should go to support your friend in this time of grief, especially if he invited you.

Random thoughts.
I just finished vacuuming my home office. Cleaning out the clutter over the weekend stirred up dust and cat hair. It was sticking to my socks. I also cleaned my cubicle at work, and ended up bringing lots of stuff home. What's next... the garage?
Seemingly out of nowhere, we ended up getting the grant. The fact these these opportunities have come my way at all is heady stuff. God is good. Looks like I'm going to be busy again. lol
The new drafting table was a little fiddly to put together, but it's surprisingly stable. The glass top works as well as I had hoped with a back-light.
Hard to believe that it's already September. Time flies.
