Actually that might be a good idea for everyone here to state the challenges - however great or small they may seem in your own eyes - coming up this week that you would like for everyone else to pray for your sake on.

Hopefully at least the people I can think of to tag will see this and be willing to share. ^-^
SarahsKnight, this is so sweet. Thank you for thinking of us!

The only thing that comes to mind is just that I remain calm and patient as I learn the ropes in a new position at work.

Even though the job itself is akin to shoveling the sidewalk while the snow is still falling (it involves keeping up with the price changes and making sure the price tags and signs around the store are, for the most part at least, accurate), the behind-the-scenes clerical/administrative nature of it is far better suited to my introvert personality as well as my overall work background. Still it can be a bit of a challenge at times.

I suppose the take-away and prayer-request (no pressure of course) from the above is this: If I can just get back to the mindset wherein I do what I do not only because it needs to be done, but also with the specific motivation of doing it for the Lord Himself, I know that would help immensely. I used implement this mindset on and off when I was younger, but in recent years there have been distractions. I learned about it from a book titled "The Practice of the Presence of God" by Brother Lawrence. 1 Corinthians 10:31 sums it up well, though: Just do it all for the glory of God. Or, as Brother Lawrence would say, for the love of God. It can be a game-changer when done with intention.

A modest musing. It builds on our discussion on truth and related topics. If you get it you’ll never be the same.

What you allow in is what you plant on. What you allow in becomes the foundation you’re standing on. If we allow a lot of worldliness in it becomes our foundation.

When satan shows up we have nothing to stop him. Because everything we’ve built is part of him. Part of his device or mechanisms. He’s tricked us into building things he has keys for. He lets us do the labor but the structure isn’t solid or defendable.

The greatest maturity is the ability to be in self-control. That’s when you become mature. When you let nothing outside disturb your peace. And you let nothing inside disturb it either. This is predicated upon what we let in.

We must control ourselves. We can’t allow our emotions to dictate policies for our life. Our emotions will attempt to write laws based on momentary feelings. That’s why we make bad decisions. We’ve allowed them to take over and dictate. When emotions should be dictated to.

In other words, you tell yourself how to feel. But when we’re out of control or fail to build the correct control mechanisms—things that kick in when we’re weak—when temptation comes we’ll have no defense. We’ll remain still when we should flee. Embrace when we should deny. Act when we should resist.

A man must be fortified. Believers must be spiritually fortified. Buildings are fortified or they’ll collapse.

A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.

Walls are a defensive position. The goal is to slow your enemy down until you’re able to get your offense going. Sometimes the enemy comes in like a flood and we’re uncertain how to respond. But the walls slow him down. That’s why castles are thick and high.

F28C65B4-163B-46FD-BD4D-77BA8971CAE3.jpeg

Control mechanisms do the same. They allow us to gather our thoughts and respond. We’re not standing because of the things we do in the time of warfare. We’re standing because of what we’ve done before the war. What we’ve already built. We’re already fortified.

It’s hard to fight and have victory when the enemy comes and defenses aren’t in place. We have a preventative and proactive God. He prepares us beforehand if we listen. We’ll be able to see the storm on the spiritual horizon heading in our direction. Much like we can in the natural.

But when we’re distracted with sin we’re unable to see it. When we’re focused, watching and praying we’ll see the enemy a long way off. And before he reaches us we’re prepared and ready to battle. The blows won’t destroy us. He has to hit something—walls aka armor—before he pierces us. And he strikes what we’ve built.

We build our walls with faith. We build our faith with scripture. Our walls are made of faith and our faith is made of scripture. Vessels devoid of the word cannot stand. The word of God anchors us. That’s our foundation. It helps us build the fort.

We should have a biblical response for our encounters. All of them. Everything we see and hear should produce a word. A seed that bears fruit.

As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty.”

We must learn to control our mouth. It erects and destroys.
Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!

We must learn to control our body and bring it under submission.
But I buffet my body and make it my slave.

We must learn to control our soul (mind, will and emotions) and spirit.
He must increase, but I must decrease.

The devil can’t destroy a man who’s fortified. He can’t derail you with lust, wayward women or wrong associations. He can’t unhinge you because you’re single or struggling to find a companion or friends. He can’t make you question your worthiness because of race, gender, income, or physical/mental/emotional/verbal/social challenges or disabilities.

If he does and you’re banging your head against the wall or crying your eyes out you’re unfortified in that area. You can’t combat it until you cease to see yourself through the world’s eyes and step into the fullness of what He meant in Psalm 139.

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

Don’t spend your life wondering why I don’t have this or that or why you’re not like the rest. Change the question. Why am I here? What did You design me to accomplish? God’s creations have a purpose and so do we.

If you’re unable to stand alone. How will you manage when paired? The battles don’t decrease they triple. You’re fighting on three fronts. The demonic assignments against yourself, your companion and the union.

Use this season to become impenetrable. A word saturated warrior. When you get enough of Him in you you’ll see the cracks in yourself and others. And you won’t be deceived. Because the words mirror the walk.

What do I mean by that? Listen to their problems, complaints and rants. They’re truth serums. The battles provide insight on the holes. He targets the weak spots. And there’s usually a pattern. Same problems, frustrations, etc. They’re going in circles and rarely connect the dots or address it in the spirit realm.

But when fortification increases and you speak the word over yourself, situations, connections and environment a shift occurs. The atmosphere changes and you’ll feel the difference. The proclamations increase and the net widens. Now you’re prayer walking and standing against things in your neighborhood, church, and city. And you broach the news with a different conscience.

You’re not discussing events or lauding politicians and celebrities. You’re praying against it. You’re not woke, liberal or conservative. You know the devil’s devices. Labels are designed to refute the truth.

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.

They don’t want you focusing on that. We’ll call you this instead. But names have spiritual associations. Be careful how you label yourself or the ones you permit others to affix. I’ve said in the past that when I name someone I’m referencing a quality they lack or can’t see in themselves. I’m speaking it into existence. You must follow suit.

When you encounter dichotomies in the words and walk take notice. There’s things you don’t say and do when you’re filled with Him. The greater the infilling the more you’ll encounter contradictions. You’ll see them everywhere and a scripture follows.

Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

It’s impossible to follow Him as you are. Because the contradictions will come. Your likes and dislikes. Desires and beliefs. Thoughts and feelings. Actions and inactions. Friends and foes. The closer we move to God the more evident our misalignment becomes.

Submission and surrender are the doorway to the God frequency. The Christ consciousness that allows us to yield when contradictions arise. We don’t ignore them or make excuses. Or alter our theology to fit. We bend.

Know your bible inside out and the related texts. That’s your sword and armor. There’s nothing you’re facing you can’t apply a word to. But if you’re clueless you don’t know which ones to use.

There’s a correlation to prayer requests. The vehicle matters as does their standing (spiritual) and conditions. You won’t move heaven with illegitimate prayers. That should settle the matter with the woman.

Now therefore take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and offer up a burnt offering for yourselves. And my servant Job shall pray for you, for I will accept his prayer not to deal with you according to your folly. For you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has.

And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer.

If you love Him you won’t ask Him to bless a union with someone who doesn’t know Him or love Him back. You’d understand the gravity of the insult and why the request won’t be granted. He harkens to His word and won’t transgress it on our behalf. Only the devil does.

That’s why we have to know the bible. We’ll apply things to God that really came from satan. Every yes and blessing isn’t from Him.

And he said to him, “Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments.”

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.

God bless. :)

I shared this with my daughter and I’m including it for your benefit. If the soil is worldly so is the water and the pair produce a harvest: the worldly foundation.

When a plant remains in the soil it goes to seed. It produces seeds that can be planted later and they’ll mirror it.

In other words, a worldly soil and water begets a worldly foundation and produces seed that creates a worldly garden.

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.

Thank you for your posts.

I can see myself in that post. Alot actually.

I have my flaws. There is alot of work to be done.

You're right. I will never be the same.

You’re welcome. There’s work to be done but the transformation’s worth it. When you put this in action you’ll change the trajectory for yourself and others. That’s the domino effect of holiness. :)
