Thank you for your beautiful advice. It is appreciated.The problem and your threads (prayer and hobbies) are all related. You can’t resolve it through distraction. You need a multi-tiered approach.
You have to see the behavior from God’s perspective. That should inspire confession and repentance. It’s the first step.
Nothing will change unless you do. Where the mind goes the body follows. In other words, focus determines action. If you want to pray more you have to saturate your mind with God as opposed to the other things you’re dwelling on.
You’re not going to have a vibrant prayer life if He’s getting 5%. The numbers don’t add up. And if you spend more time with Him you’ll lessen the temptations and increase resistance.
It goes hand in hand. That’s what John 3:30 is pointing out. That’s how you slay the flesh and deepen your relationship.
But its not about works. You can go to church and bible study every week and be lukewarm. It’s the heart and mind behind it and time in His presence. Nearness changes you and sears your conscience. Holiness rubs off.
When sin is rampant there’s always a spiritual deficiency. Immersion alters the battle. You get pushback from taking ground and doing the Lord’s work.
The devil doesn’t care about you going to church. Or how many events and studies you attend. The biggest threat to his kingdom is prayer. So he keeps you distracted. Busy, heavy laden, entertained, and whatever it takes to keep you silent.
If you want Holy Ghost victory it must be your daily bread. He should be quaking in his boots when you wake. Saying oh hell, he’s up. He should fear your prayers because heaven moves on your words. Just like Daniel.
For from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard.
That should be every blood bought believer’s reality. If it isn’t you’re focused on the wrong thing. You’re operating in your capacity not His. And the results confirm it.

My dad is in his upper 60s. Sometimes people get forgetful as they age. I suggest she keep her mind active and try learning new things, new skills etc. If possible.I think 60's.
It might just be me overthinking.
