Wow! It's common in the Catholic Church.I have never heard of this before. I googled it and I get that it's to replicate Jesus 40 day fasting in the desert. I find that very interesting.
I'm not sure about the do's and don'ts, for myself I just do as I am lead. Doing the Daniel fast and taking time off social media has been good for my soul and rest. I take it at other times of the year, but not as an annual event like I do Lent. People on social media now expect me to go on that long break. Are there other things apart from not being on social media and CF to hold back from?
what are the does and don'ts?
I think this is a good list. And it's an easy way for beginners to start out. As the years progress, I think Christians can feel led for restricting other things to have their focus on the Lord. It's all good preparation for Easter. What to give up for Lent:
- Don't buy anything that you don't NEED.
- 2- Throw Away 40 things for 40 days.
- 3- 40 Days of home Organization.
- 4- No Gossiping.
- Work out daily to take care of the body God gave you.
- 6- Don't Eat After Dinner.
- 7- Give Up Soda for Lent.
- Say 3 Nice Things to Your Spouse & Kids Daily.
I couldn't tell you on the last one. I know it's becoming commonplace for people to take a break from social media during the lent season. Thanks for asking. Are there other things? Does the does and don't differ from person to person?
By the way, I'm ready for that phone call now. Been waiting 10 years.Oh goodness, my telephobia is scared for you!

Then all you need is a lawyer and a doctor and you can RULE THE WORLD!!!Not sure what to make of it, but the police officer from the last storm system that I plowed sent a request through social media to be my friend. While I was plowing last night he was sending me messages, because he thought I was on the same route where he met me. He joked about asking to salt more if I was on that route because of crash reports he had to take care of. With the way his messages were, I had wondered if he was single. And I saw that he is. We have two mutual friends through my workplace. I don't see much of a connection with him except for it's always going to know another police officer, especially with my work. You never know when it could come in handy.

@Saucy and @Somber I don't know how you two read that so quickly. The minute that I clicked on the button to post reply, suddenly I saw a notifications. Maybe computers are quicker than phones. I'm doing everything through my phone.

apparently xD.... the person at the other end is apparently an aged Catriona MacCol making it crystal clear to Lucio Fulci that she's not doing another of his films this far into the 2000's.
On a positive note, at Subway a woman was serving me and I could tell a hard worker. She suddenly said to me that she couldn't understand why her and her daughter are working over because someone is an hour late. I listen to her and sympathized, and then offered if she wanted to plow for me she could. And that I work to 16 hours yesterday. She was surprised, and she said I bet you make good money. And I told her I didn't. And then as she tried to scan my rewards it wasn't working, and she said here take this. I questioned her, and she said, you listen to me so thank you! Wow!!! That's amazing. I had told her before that that she has a good work ethic and that I hope things get better for her.

Thank you! I sometimes wonder if there's something about me that makes people just want to unload. It was so out of the blue because the guy before wouldn't even make eye contact with her. He was busy talking to a girl on video on his cell phone while he made his order. It was kind of rude. I didn't even have many words with her just asking the price between a wrap and a regular 6-in. I always hope that it is the spirit of Christ in me that makes people want to talk to me. It feels like a gift when I'm able to encourage someone else.As I said before when you spoke of encountering a similar situation at a donut shop about a month ago, Miss Sampa, you have a way about you that causes people to want to do little favors for you. Because you are kind to them first, expecting nothing.![]()
