  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Something just dawned on me. In the past week, at work and elsewhere in public I have heard the polite well wishes of "Merry Christmas" (and not "Happy Holidays", not a single time) spoken to me and between others in at least twenty different occurrences. So, I know Houston is just one place and I shouldn't speak for the rest of the country, but .... what i am thinking here is that PureFlix is manufacturing a certain kind of Christian persecution, rather than there truly being anyone forced to say "Happy holidays" so as to deliberately leave Jesus Christ out of the mix.

Waking up on the day where you open up a whole bunch of wrapped presents from a magical bearded fat man from the arctic who flies in a sleigh pulled by flying deer was one of the best things about childhood.

I feel ya. My manager at work often pressures me to find a girlfriend after I repeatedly tell him I have no interest. Whatever relationships we each miss out on by choice or not will be made up for in Heaven, only much better and no drama. God knows what's best for us. :)

It wasn't until I looked at moving to the U.S. and Canada a few years ago that I realised how fortunate we are with annual leave here. My new job, it turns out, gives me 7 weeks holiday from commencement each year. That's insane lol. That's more than 10% of the year!
