CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm getting really annoyed with Windows updates. I've had two instances where installing/configuring the updates has frozen, forcing me to interrupt the process by powering off, and now my computer seems to take longer to start up (which could just be a coincidence).
I'm wondering whether it's worth giving Linux a try as apart from iTunes and the odd game I play very occasionally, there doesn't appear to be any Windows-only software that I use. So I could pretty much still do everything that I regularly do without having to suffer through Windows.

Every update on windows seems to cause more problems than it fixes. I've had issues with certain programs not opening like control panel and it's just a mess. Makes me wish I kept windows 7.

I'm assuming you have Windows 10. The only issue I ever had, and this could have been due to my laptop instead of Windows, but the updates would take FOREVER.
I've never used anything but Windows, so maybe it really is crap and I just don't know any better. Haha

Watched Wonder Woman last night. One of the very few times a female lead didn't utterly annoy me. However, the constant slow-motion fight scenes to 'heighten' the epicness got really old, and quick. I hate the overuse of slow-motion. Like, just get on with it...
So all in all, it was worth watching but I wasn't blown away. 7/10 stars

Yep, Windows 10. And it's definitely Windows not my laptop, as that's only about six months old.
I've used Virtualbox to install Ubuntu on a virtual machine, and it seems to be going OK so far. I appear to have got OneDrive working, so now I need to tackle iTunes - if I can't still use both of those then there's no point in moving away from Windows.

Bro... I hear you. My laptop is pretty new too but these Windows 10 updates are constant and brutally slow. They've frozen on me too and forced me to shut it down... which is never good to do and always risky.

Like 99.9% percent of all of them. Any typical female lead that screams the whole liberal, feminist agenda, and especially those that blatantly man-bash, but all of them do that to some degree. Even in subtle ways. It's so stupid and cliche.
Only female lead that I love and 'measures up' in my mind is Carol in Walking Dead. I adore her character.

Yeah though, Carol from the walking dead is one of my favorite female characters too. Along with Ripley from the Alien films and Sarah Conner from Terminator 2 (too much of a damsel in the first one.. lol)
