:hahaha:

No, 20 years from now it will still be a topic of conversation. It level pretty much the whole city. New Orleans still looks like a bomb went off. I lived down there for a couple of months and it was still a mad house. They have made progress but there is still a lot to do.

The problem wasn't the storm, it was the levees that did the damage. It is what happens when nature reclaims what you take from it and neglect the very things that are keeping nature at bay.

The stories I have heard from people that saw things first hand of what the Katrina refugees did to those that took them in to their homes, businesses etc. makes me have a VERY low opinion of NO as a whole.

They even used the Astrodome as a shelter for them. The national guard had to be called in to police the place because there was too much theft, rape and murder going on. They even found multiple cases of 2-4 year old little girls in dumpsters that had been raped and killed.

I know not ALL NO people are like that, but, the bad apples spoil the bunch.... and those that used Katrina as an excuse to be less than human have tainted the view of that city for me.... forever.

It was €20 total so no not too much to replace if needed. Created by the company that made my phone as well so I expect it has some quality standards. And as long as it works I'll be able to recharge three times before it's empty. Something I'm going to need in a couple of months.

Meanwhile: typical Dutch thunderstorm.

Yeah, it could charge my S5 5 times before I needed a wall charger. It cost me 30-40, worked great. Then it simply started flashing at me without taking a charge a few short months later so I just tossed it.

I agree the problem wasn't just the storm, had the levees held the devastation wouldn't have been so bad. I never had a high opinion of New Orleans but once I lived down there I never want to go back. I had to live behind a gate with armed security, we were encouraged never to leave the "compound" without at least one other person, and we (the ladies) were repeatedly told not go anywhere at night without a group and preferably men. I hated the city of New Orleans by the time I left. It was the most oppressive city that I have been in inside the USA. We would take trips every weekend to a neighboring town or state just to get away from the crazy stress of the city. Once while I was down there my garmin went insane and I ended up in a very bad part of town. I was praying out loud I was so scared and was desperately trying to get back to a "safer" area. When the dollar store has to have visible armed security you know a city is in bad shape.

Yep, thats in line with the experience my city had with them. They came here and our crime rate skyrocketed. Katrina was worse for those cities taking in refugees than it was for the city of NO itself.

We have a hurricane that might effect us sometime tonight.
I suppose if it's bad enough I'd have a certifiable excuse if things go awry for college that's starting this Monday. I'm going to charge up my laptop, and turn my assignments in using my phone's interest worst case I suppose.
I've never done any college courses really, just tons of tests, and some third party online courses so I have 75 credit right now. I'm a little nervous since it takes a while to understand the whole format of what they want done. Hopefully I do alright here, and college serves as a good distraction from things that have been bothering me for a decent while.

Thats horrible.
I never had a high opinion of new orleans. All i knew of it was from a streetcar named desire and it was full of voodoo and anne rice vampires.
Also, in the simpsons, they had this song of it 'home of pirates. Drunks and harlots' new orleans...tacky overpriced souvenir stores...

Some places you just dont want to go and i dont think people should build on swampland. Like christchurch...

Christchurch, like new orleans, was lovely on the outside for tourists and the rich moneyed crowd but inisde was rotten...practically every week you'd hear of something particularly nasty happening in chch...child molestors, church hypocrisy, rapes, murders, kidnappings. Ugh. More so than other towns in nz with a bad rep.

Well the capacity is higher, but I believe things like it have existed for awhile. I could be mistaken.

The only systems I ever have are Playstations. Not cause I have brand name loyalty..... simply cause I have held a PS controller since I was in highschool so I know it and it feels right in my hands.

They ever really change the controller Im out. :p The PS4 controller is a little different but only small changes, I can live with that.

Im not much of a gamer short of a few rare games here and there...... so the last thing I want to do is learn a new controller for something I just turn to as a last resort for entertainment.

Wii IMO was more of a novelty.... I dated a woman that owned one and it was fun and Im sure amusing watching me shadow box while playing a boxing game.... but after playing with it for a short time and learning that the controller simply needed a slight tilt for the same effect...... the novelty wore off. :(

When I actually have to bob and weave, jab and upper cut in a boxing game..... sign me up. Til then.... :|

Sorry to hear the crime rate! That's awful.

There is still a lot of voodoo going on down there or at least voodoo dolls are a hot ticket item. They are all over the market in the french quarter.

Haha I have a WiiU :D what game did you get?

Super smash bro, Lugi and Mario Kart.

The Wii U is nothing like the old Wii, which I also had. Gosh I remember the first playstation and the the very first grand theft auto, I don't like the xbox but M wanted it, having 3 boys I have a a ray of different stuff lol

Get Mario Kart.

Got, haven't played it yet :D

I think my EX is hoping we get back together *sigh* he is my best friend at times but then others I could glady choke him, with his problems though he does seem to be sorting them out, I hope he is more for his sake, I wouldn't like to live with his demons,
