I just watched a clip of one of those American tv preachers. He was quoting from Mark 12 of the King James bible. I knew it was the KJV from the way it's worded.
He said something like: "'For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want'... She wanted something!" Uh, that's not what that verse is saying. No doubt in my mind this guy was using that verse to preach the prosperity gospel. He turned the woman's selfless act into a selfish one. What a disgrace.

A disgrace indeed. I've been incredibly generous with my time and money for God's cause and yet I'm still not a millionaire. Go figure. (I do it for reward in Heaven, mind you!)

If you live in auckland for long enough you could be a millionaire on paper with the way house prices are going lol. If you sold up everything you had, youd be a millionaire but then you'll have nowhere in auckland to live.

Housing prices are pretty ridiculous where I live too, mostly due to the oil industry. If I remember correctly, a one bedroom apartment costs a minimum of $850 a month.

Another thing too is that if I sold everything I had, I would have to give the money to the poor of Auckland if I really want to please God.

I realise that this is very much a first world problem, but I'm currently connected via my phone because my ADSL has been down for more than 12 hours (since about 7 o'clock this morning). I'm not actually that bothered by the lack of an internet connection - I was out for much of the day and if I'd been home then I could have found other things to do - but more so by not knowing when it's going to be fixed.

It's only October and already winter is trying to kill me. It was like a 1940's comedy skit trying to get to the bus stop.

Yesterday while walking home from work, I tried to run across the icy street and slipped. I fell down on my left knee and scraped it really bad and violently rolled over to my back. It stung pretty bad.

I then got up and tried limping to the bus stop. I was going through some thick snow and accidentally stepped into a pothole and fell flat on my stomach into several inches of snow. I did not have gloves or a scarf on and I was covered in snow. I thought, "Dang it, just kill me now!"

I did manage to get on the bus in time. Even now my left knee still stings.

God sends you on a short drive through Houston, where someones bad driving causes an issue and then other bad drivers almost hit you due to that issue causing you to just about lose your stuff and ready to get out all Hulk style on someone...... to remind you that you will always be a work in progress.

Road rage.............. I are it.

On my mind, I'm not sure if CF is right for me anymore. I'm not looking for reassurance or anything, but I don't really feel as if I add much value to the current "product" - for lack of a better word.

I don't know, I just don't feel as if my best is on show here. I joke around way WAY too much and when I try to sound helpful or encouraging it comes out sounding wrong. Or weird.

I'm just thinking out loud more than anything else...

But seriously, you're not a burden in any way. We actually enjoy having you here. It takes all kinds of people to make the body of Christ. In this forum's case, the body includes an Amazon, a furry, a 1940's guy, a feminist hating midget, a taco and Dr Pepper junkie, a schizophrenic guy, a overly-literal literature lover, a young mother, and tons of other kinds of people.

Don't think that you are the black sheep of the flock.

Sometimes you just need a break.

I've left for a while a few different times when CF was "not right" for me at the time and it's beginning to feel that way again. But I began to realize that it's not what others can do for, but what I can do for others and that's why I came back, although I will limit my forum interactions from here on out to mostly encouragement type posts.

I will say that I experienced the most spiritual and personal growth the times I left and, so, I encourage you in that if it is your reason for possibly leaving. But the greatest gift we can offer here is to come back more spiritually mature to help others.

OMM: Weird people in church and churches filled only with old people.

Both reasons make me not want to go to church at all. So discouraging. Churches are only filled with old folks in my area... I can't relate to anyone. Can't hang out with anyone outside of church.

And weird people in church... people who touch to much, fake smiles/fakeness in general, people who are way too charismatic imo, arrogant people... I feel more comfortable talking to strangers in the supermarket then I do at church... some people just instantly strike you with bad vibes.

Cut down my dr pepper intake and I gain weight.......

I mean I know its water weight, no big deal.... but......

4 Pounds in just as many days. Id better be losing fat while gaining this hydration weight cause if not... Im gonna be a water balloon by this time next week....

Oh and I think my tap water is beer, cause I filter it.... but seriously..... I drink one cup....... I have to pee for an hour straight.
