I know right? I told God that I would praise Him no matter what the outcome was because no matter what He already did more than I ever deserved in my life. In fact I praised Him for the trial when this whole thing started Sunday night with the accident and then this breakdown. God is good! But this is my son's experience and I want him to believe that God DOES care and answer our prayers.

I'd guess with engines that that is fairly common to put in a used engine. A new engine is really expensive. But an engine from another totaled car can be reasonable in comparison. I think the main thing to look for in a used engine is are there any fluid leaks.

Long weekend...High School Figure Skating State Championship. Tomorrow, we can catch practice ice here in town before driving the hour and half for individual competition...but it appears we have 7am ice in that time on Sunday morning for team competition. And I have a test on Monday to boot. We have to come home between days because my girl has a performance with her theater on ice group on Saturday evening. She may be changing in the car. (I am hoping we are skipping softball practice that is scheduled after that).

I was born to be a night nurse. These early mornings are killing me. (Two days a week, I have to be at the hospital ready for a 8 hour clinical by 6:30am)

Good luck to your daughter. The one time I tried standing up on ice skates I fell and broke my elbow. Sounds like a long weekend for both of you. I have nothing planned except to watch the tourney all weekend. Then on Monday I go back to work thank God.

Good news Good news!!!! They finally made a decision and they are going to COVER the engine and a rental car for 5 days. Good thing we didn't have the rental car all this time, IDK why it's only for 5 days but I expect it to be fixed in 5 days then. But PRAISE THE LORD!!!!! I gave it to the Lord and He heard my prayer! Thank you Jesus! God is good! But He would be good whether or not He took care of this little issue. Thank you Lord!!!

So apparently they are putting in a used engine and we will have a 6 month 6 thousand mile warranty. What do you think about that? I never heard of a warranty company putting in used parts.

I'm sooo glad they are covering the engine etc!! I'm sorry its not rebuilt. Hopefully it will be a decent one, and you wont have any problems

Wow, full on weekend for you! Hope your daughter does well in her comp! :)

I broke my ankle on rollerskates when I was about 13 years old! It was Christmas day, and I got the skates as a Christmas present. I was skating out the front of our house, and rolled my ankle. Spent Christmas day in the Emergency Department at the hospital! Ended up in plaster for 6 weeks. Not exactly the Christmas we had planned, and hoped for. :D

Michelle...I would guess that it is in the fine print of the warranty...though if it isn't, I'd complain. How much warranty was left of then one that was in the car when you bought it? I'd insist and a minimum of that much at the very least. However, low mileage used engines can be very fine...I've bought them before and didn't have any problems.

My daughter's team didn't place very well at the competition and they had some life lessons in "real life". All I can figure is that there must have been very little difference in scores between higher teams and the lower teams because I sure didn't see them place quiet as low as they did. All we see is who places 1st, 2nd, etc... However, they were at the state competition and it was the first time in at least 6 years since this school sent any teams to state and we took 2 different teams. My daughters team was all freshmen so they now have a year's experience under their belts too. Next year can be better....

nothing in the fine print in the warranty. It had 106,000 on it and 600 miles until the warranty expires (it was used when we bought it). They said since it had that many miles on it it wasn't justified to put a new engine in it so we have a 6 month 6,000 mile warranty on it. I guess it beats having a sharp stick in the eye. He is supposed to get it back today.

Now my son's car is up an running from the accident except he said they can't get the hood on because of the damage to the front of his car. He is so angry when talking to me he cannot explain WHY it's not fitting except to say the whole front end of his car is messed up, but doesn't tell me what we need to do to fix it except take it to a body shop, which we don't have money for right now.

On another note. I survived volunteering and working on Saturday and even got most of my laundry done in the morning before I went. Then yesterday I cleaned my whole house including mopping the floors! I lost steam after doing the living room and kitchen and bath and with only my room to be done, I had to take a nap. Then I forced myself to get up and finish my room, and after that I went to the grocery store! It was almost 8pm when I went to the store but it's all done. I have work tonight and tomorrow at Kohls so.....

I thought I could go back to work today but the doc said another week. Suck.

For your appendix? or was it something else? I had my gallbladder out when I was 19 and my doctor told me when I got out of the hospital DON'T lay around, be active, and I was to my mother's worry.

Just forked out $400 on new tyres for my sons car, plus its then going straight to thr mechanics to have a new power steering rack fitted. Dreading how much thats gunna cost.

Driving it feels really weird now. I'm so used to driving my car, and I keep forgetting the hand brake is next to you, instead of on the floor, like it is in my car. Sooner he gets his license the better! Lol Cars..are they so much fun, arent they?! :D
