OH MY GOODNESS!! SOOOO excited!! A few years ago, my friend Tins wrote a song about my journey, and it blew me away!! I still get goosies when I listen to it, and still sometimes tear up. Anyways, I have nagged at her to get it copyrighted, and she finally did!! Notification came thru today! This was recorded in her home, but hoping one day she gets her butt into a recording studio and does an album of her music! Gods blessed me heaps thru our friendship. Anyways, wanted to share it with you guys!

Heres the lyrics...

BUTTERFLY

Verse 1.
Can you see the pain in my eyes
The deep and haunting memories they hold
If only for a day someone could understand
Who I've been is not who I am
Lost in a sea of broken records
The past is daring me to give in
But I will overcome, and spread my broken wings
My heart must learn to fly once again.

Verse 2.
Anxiously I begged for some freedom
Yet in the midst of troubled agony
His strong and gentle hands safely guided me
Into a quiet cocoon of healing grace
Hidden deep within the safe abyss
My wounded life is being restored
His perfect love replaced the broken shattered wings
A beautiful butterfly breaks free

Chorus:
So I will fly away
Spread my wings and soar
Above the pain and sorrow
To a wonderful beautiful tomorrow
I've been set free at last
And it's time to say good bye
To the dark and broken shell of the past
Butterfly

Bridge:
I've been redeemed, I've been set free
A new creation glory to God, I'm fearfully and wonderfully made!

For your appendix? or was it something else? I had my gallbladder out when I was 19 and my doctor told me when I got out of the hospital DON'T lay around, be active, and I was to my mother's worry.

Yep I am not "fit for duty" yet. Which my job now consists of nothing but sitting at a desk most of the day so I don't know what the issue is. I guess it's because I'm not supposed to PT and that's part of the job. I'm so bored and I think way too much when I have nothing to do.

Your appendix is attached to your colon....you have to let the stitches where they removed it heal because you don't want the contents of your colon (i.e. poop) leaking into your abdomen. Yuck and super ouch.

I feel like the stitches have healed. It feels completely normal. But yes that would be gross.

You most likely can't "feel" the stitches on your colon, silly. Your pain was related to other things that they had to do to get in there. Blowing you up with carbon dioxide is the primary cause of pain after a laparoscopic surgery. And a war-experienced soldier most likely is pretty good at underestimating pain or not admitting it which is something your doc knows too. ;)

Please pray for my younger son. Every morning he feels sick and forces himself to throw up. I took him to the Dr. yesterday and they did blood work and we had an ultra sound on his gallbladder and liver done. The ultra sound came back negative for gallbladder disease, so now we are waiting on the blood work. They said he might have an ulcer which is possible.
It's so frustrating because he and I have been having this battle. He wants to do online school and I say no. His brother went thru the same thing, he didn't want to go to school but I said no. So I raise my kids the same so it's no for my younger one too. He is a bright kid and the year is almost over. Next year he will only have to go for 1/2 a day but getting to the end of this year I think might do me in.
So originally I thought he might be faking it so I would let him stay home. The thing is, is that as the day progresses, he is fine. Yesterday was the same. When I took him to the doctor, he was fine the whole time. And by fine, I mean he wasn't wanting to run to the bathroom to throw up like he was at home. AND he wanted food afterward and what does he get? PIZZA!
So pray for an answer and please pray for him to have an attitude adjustment. He has a come back for everything I say. I realize he is a teenager and only looking at things from HIS perspective. Hopefully he matures soon. My last and hardest kid? well not yet, but he sure is giving it his best effort.

Hey Michelle, do you think its possible its anxiety based? I know with my youngest son, (he has had anxiety since he was around 8 years old), when his anxiety is pretty bad, he feels much worse in the morning, to the point where sometimes he is actually pale looking. Some mornings he feels nauseous, and cant eat. Often as the day goes on, it improves.

When he was only about 8 years old, we had a whole heap of medical tests done on him, to rule out him having something physical that was causing the symptoms, but they all came back clear. We were under a Pediatrician at the time for other reasons, and he decided given the results of the tests, he believed it was anxiety based. We trialled him on some meds, and after a few weeks, it made a huge difference. Over time, under medical supervision, Ive gradually weened him off them on a trial basis a few times, but after a short period of time of them, he regresses. So he is back on them, at this point, permanently. His was very severe back then tho.

Anyways, may not be it, but just thought I would throw it out there. :)

Hope things settle. Will be praying for him. (((hugs)))

It could be anxiety. He thinks my standards are too high for him, but I feel as a mom, I know his potential. I do not expect him to be perfect. In reality, he could get straight A's if he put effort, even just a little effort. But I do not expect him to get straight A's but I DO expect him to get A's and B's. He needs a B average to get the good student driver discount on car insurance, and he is a junior so these grades really count toward getting scholarships for college. He doesn't like having to do homework and I don't feel he tries very hard. Yesterday he had a test in Pre-Calc and I guess he didn't know the material (he missed a couple of days) so he texted me "sorry if I fail math. I give up cause I'm forced to take quizzes on bs I wasn't here to learn, so I'm done I don't care anymore." Then the next text was "how much was the college credit? I'll pay you for it cause I probably won't be getting it".

I did not answer either text because he is famous for inciting drama thru text and I am trying to change my technique to see if it makes it better. I never heard another word from him after that and he did not say anything to me this morning about that or anything. He just left for school.

My older son went thru a similar bout when he was the same age and about drove me bonkers too. Almost identical all the way thru his first year of college. He joined the military so he could quit college and now regrets that decision. He didn't quit college, but has a lengthy contract with Uncle Sam and wants out BUT he's still in college and even talking about getting his masters! AND he's over the anger and everything and we have a really great relationship now. So I have hope LOL.

My younger son just wants to quit school altogether and I won't let him. He also would rather do online school, which again I will not let him. My older son never talked about quitting school but he also wanted to do online school which I said no. My younger son, has told me on more than one occasion that he can quit school because he is 16 and then he could just get his GED and he thinks he wants to be a welder. He thinks college is pointless and unnecessary but I still want him to go. Having a degree opens more doors even if it's later in life he will be glad if he gets one. My older one gets it now and he is almost done with his 2nd year!! Woot!

Its such a juggling act bringing up kids on your own, isnt it! I think as Mums we usually know when to push our kids, when not to, and like you said, what their potential/capabilities are. It sounds like it is more likely that he is just going through what your other son went thru. I'm really glad that you're eldest son gets it now! Thats excellent that he is almost done with his 2nd year!
