Feeling very grateful. I had the first day of my last clinical. I love this hospital and this seems like an awesome instructor. I am not thrilled about being on day shift after six months of evening clinicals. (5am is too early to be getting up when you are a night owl.)

6 weeks left before I get pinned (the special nurse graduation ceremony). :D

can I post here? i'm 109, just check my profile :p hi chrissy!

what's on my mind is that im happy to be back after being banned for something stupid. never been in this secion of forum before that I can remember, but came here because I heard this is where dan's prayer threads were. he was good people and I will really miss him.

Woohooo, Nuttys in the house!! :D Welcome to this lufferly corner of the forums! And dude...you dont look a day over....80! :p

I'm sorry for the loss of Dan. I only got to know him in the last 3 or so weeks of his life. He made a huge impact on myself, and many others on the forum, especially in the Mature Singles section. We talked a bit in the threads and thru pm's etc, and underneath all the hurt and damage he had suffered physically, mentally and emotionally, it was easy to see he had a beautiful heart and soul. Even tho he was going thru such a horrid time himself, he prayed for people, encouraged them, and connected with them. I'm sad that it ended the way it did, but I have no doubts he is kicking back, hanging out with God, and his eldest son, in heaven.

SWEET! our own blackribbon is going to be a real live nurse! Woot! Yeah 6 weeks is a walk in the park considering what you have gone thru already. You are an inspiration, no doubt!

Today I need prayer badly. My son's engine blew and we are trying to get the warranty to cover it and they are stressing us out! First they said the receipts my son brought in didn't mean anything because it didn't have his VIN number on them. Then they called yesterday and said that there were holes in the calalytic converter and that was odd and they think my son drilled the holes! Seriously!
My son is considering ruining his credit if they don't cover it. He still owes 12G on the car and doesn't think it's worth it to put a new engine in it if they don't pay for it. I think it is worth it, but I also think THEY should cover it. It had oil in it when it blew so it WAS lubricated. I have faith that God will work it out, but in the mean time it is very stressful. We should find out today if they are going to cover it, and if NOT my son has to pay them 600 bucks for the tear down of the engine. It was going to be 900 but my son told them he could not afford that and then they offered to give him an employee discount to bring it down to 600. Please pray we will get the answer we need today. If they cover it a rental car will also be covered and right now we are down to one car. My younger son DID finally get a job, but his car is not working since his accident on Sunday so I am left trying to get everyone where they need to be with my truck. This week my son was on spring break but next week he has school and work and I have 2 jobs and my younger son now has a job so we need these cars fixed pronto! TIA for your prayers.

Wow, Michelle! Sounds like you're in quite a fix right now. Is there any way any of you could take public transportation or car pool with a coworker? I hope you get it figured out and that your issues are resolved. God somehow finds a way when we feel like there is no way. Amen?

Amen, no public transportation doesn't work for where we need to go, and the times. And no on the co-worker thing too. Today my son is at work. I took him this morning. He has to try to find a ride home cuz he gets off at 2? I think but then he has to be back at 5 so I have to rush home to get him back to work, then I'm going to a party, and then I have to pick him up at 8 which means I have to leave the party fairly soon and depending on how the party is going I may go back or not.

Michelle, I'm sorry things are so chaotic - it sounds like one thing after another. $600 sounds good if that will replace or rebuild the engine, if the car is otherwise good and worth, I don't know, something thousand dollars. Better than many times $600 for another car and the old car would have little resale value with a blown engine. It is easy to get deep into debt over cars.

Blackribbon, great that you finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I know you worked hard - it sounds like a tough program you went through.

The 600 bucks is JUST for them to tear down the engine to see IF they feel like covering it so if they DONT then he has to pay and his car will still be broke and need an engine.
