What's a Messianic Jew?

Hey guys,

I am by no means coming here to offend, I just want to learn.
What is a messianic Jew?

As it confuses me and the only messianic Jew I know of is Sid Roth. Who I think is awesome haha! I am from the UK and I'm assuming this denomination is much more common in the states due to the larger number of Jews.

I also want to ask are you converts from Judaism? Are you christians that sympathis with Judaism? Is there really much difference between a Jew, a Messianic Jew, and a Christian?

the difference may be 'easier' to explain than actually what a Messianic Jew is.

a Jew may or may not believe in and may or may not follow the Messiah.
a Messianic Jew believes in the Messiah, and may or may not follow Him.
a Christian may or may not believe in and may or may not follow the Messiah. (after 'Christianity' became a state(required or die) religion).

of course, a real Christian believes in the Messiah and follows Him, instead of following man any more, including not following ones self - the self was crucified with Christ, and lives by faith in the Son of God.

Messianic Jew.. a Jew who believes in Yeshua as the Messiah
Messianic Judaism... a believer in Yeshua who practices a Yeshua' style of Judaism.

Christianity... means many things to many people starting with the name Jesus Christ.
