If I ware not a Serb, and my relative volunteered army of Bosnian muslims and died there, probably it wouldn’t be possible for me to accept anything else except that those who killed him ware demons, so I can understand your position...Two of my uncles travled to Bosnia to fight, so i do not need to be told what occured there. The one that made it home has told me all I would ever need to know. My other Uncle was one of the victums of Srebrenica massacre, committed by Serbians in which over 13,000 Bosnian and Muslim men were killed.

Hi. I would like to ask what it would take for the Orthodoxs to once again come under the Reign of the Pope? Thanks.![]()

Umm, are you Orthodox? Then please do not respond if you are going to make comments like this and especially if you are not Orthodox. Thanks. For many it will probably be because nobody will buy sell or trade with them...for fear of being put to the sword...burned alive at the stake, or beheaded.
When those days come, those who love their life will lose it, and those who hate their life will gain it.
Peace

2 Peter 3:10 and it will come--the day of the Lord--as a thief in the night, in which the heavens with a rushing noise will pass away, and the elements with burning heat be dissolved, and earth and the works in it shall be burnt up.

Those Muslim men were sacrificed by their leaders to provide a reason for the Serbs to be attacked. The Muslim forces used the "Safe Haven" status of Srebenica as a base from which they launched terrorist attacks on the Serbs in the surrounding villages. They then abandoned an easily defensible position, leaving their women and children to the mercy of the enraged Serbs and retreated in a manner which left them wide open to attack.

BTW, has that number of 13,000 dead ever been confirmed. There has been plenty of time to examine the supposed 'mass graves' photographed with pinpoint accuracy by US spy satellites, yet on the ground they seem to be having a lot of difficulty finding them.
What disturbs me the most about all the history of the Balkans is how quickly the US and the UK are willing to turn on their former allies. Hundreds of US and UK pilots shot down over Yugoslavia during WWII were rescued and kept safe from the Germans by Chetnik Serbs, yet they are now portrayed as bloodthirsty demons.
[edit] Official figures seem to place the number killed at Srebenica at under 8000
Hi Mezza. What the heck does this have to do with why Orthodox will not come under the Pope, just as non-catholics will not come under him? Thanks. This link is unacceptable, it is claiming that the victims of the Srebrenica massacre were at fault for being slaughtered by Serbians. It is some extremist right-wing Serbian nationalist site.

Hi. What religion were each of these groups? Thanks.People will try to twist and manipulate history for their own personal benefit, to this date people still deny the Holocaust, the Armenian genocide, Japanese war crimes… ect. Just add your name to the list beside Serbian War Crimes, the most brutal and largest genocide in European history since the Nazis gassed 12 million people to death.
They sought to ethnically cleanse Bosnia, they sought to commit genocide against the Bosnians, they sought to commit genocide against the Croats and they meant(still are) committing genocide against the Albanians.
Hi. What religion were each of these groups? Thanks.
Yes, your Honor, I will. And to what punishment do you sentance me.Just add your name to the list beside Serbian War Crimes.
Individuals who committed crimes - no, none of them on whatever side they ware. And you defend these people?

I roared when I read this lol
The differences in "theology", although apparently small , can seem almost insurmountable ... to the "Orthodox mind", these small differences actually betray a very different understanding of God and the "spiritual anthropology" or understanding of man. An "understanding" of God leads to an understanding of man and the way to salvation. This is at the core of our worship, for "orthodox" means both "right belief and right worship".
Should agreement be reached in the future, recognize that the Orthodox (both Oriental and Eastern) are unlikely rushed in these matters. 1500 years is but a drop in the eternal ...
EDIT: also, I don't think the Orthodox would say "come under the pope"; the Pope of Rome was considered "first among equals" but still had "one vote".
I'll answer you the best I can here, though you might want to ask in TAW where I can guarantee you will receive the correct answers.
Renouncing Catholicism simply means returning to Orthodoxy. The two are what you would call separate "denominations," basically, though we definitely would not consider ourselves such (what with that whole "one holy catholic and apostolic Church" thing). There are a few theological points that we feel would need fixing, basically.
What's un-Orthodox about Roman Catholicism? Well, as stated earlier, the main issues that caused the split were the papacy (the bishop of Rome was always the first among equals, not what he is now) and the insertion of the filioque - Orthodoxy condemns the idea that the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Son as He does from the Father as heretical. There are plenty of others that have arisen over the years, such as the Immaculate Conception of Mary.
We do not have a pope as do the Roman Catholics. There are a number of autocephalous churches (such as the church of Greece, Antioch, Russia, Bulgaria, Jerusalem, and so forth) and all have patriarchs, but none of them alone are infallible as the RCs claim the pope to be.
Somebody correct me if any of that is inaccurate. Again, visit TAW if you want some really good answers to your questions.![]()
Salam. Thanks for dropping by and giving your view. Always good to see a muslim come aboard once in awhile, especially since I have flooded the NCR board with a ton of postsOrthodox may mean "right belief and right worship" for Orthodox Christians and i agree with you there, but it doesn't mean that for other "christians"
