Sharing things does not make us kin. Sharing a hotel room with cockroaches does not make you married to one.

That analogy makes zero sense.

Especially in the context of believing a creator made lifeforms out of common parts. In that sense, why wouldn't sharing similarities make us kin?

Why would we be, we share a planet, biosphere, water, air, and creator!

The above sentence can 100% apply to being related via biological evolution.

Where is the offense coming from again?

Great, so glad your claim of being offended was hyerbole.
Please quote the post where I claimed to be offended (you can't, because there is no such post). Perhaps, instead, you could point to the post where I already said I wasn't offended (that post does exist).

Yet again you have failed to read what is there in front if you, you just see what you so desperately want to see.

It's official. You are talking in circles and making no sense.

Because if we were created with similarities, that is not kin.

Or not. Believe what you like for no real reason.
Where is the offense coming from again?
I think that was a mix up meant for bunglebear

No, you just don't read and understand what's being said. If you paid attention and did as asked we would be able to have a coherent discussion. The problem is your inability to let go of your preconceived ideas and see what is there in front of you. Stop responding to things I have not said. Stop putting words in my mouth. Start responding to things I have actually said. Start responding to the words I actually use.

So? How does being created from a common bucket of parts by a common creator not make us kin?

Or not. Believe what you like for no real reason.

Huh?

No, I'm asking you why you're offended at the idea of being related to other organisms. You seem to be fighting the idea, even though there is no functional difference between being related via common ancestry versus being related via a common creator.

More insane accusations. Whatever. Just be happy with your shared relatives with bananas I guess.
Not really interested in offensive accusations that make no sense.

Because we are a special creation, for whom God came to earth and died for..

About the same reason some would be offended at being called relatives to stuff in an unflushed toilet.

Because we are a special creation, for whom God came to earth and died for..

Yet we share the same commonalities with other organisms. Why is that? Why aren't humans wholly unique? Why don't we have a completely unique genetic code? Why don't we have completely unique biology?

Why do we have so much in common with other organisms even though we're (according to you) a "special creation"?

About the same reason some would be offended at being called relatives to stuff in an unflushed toilet.

Colorful analogy, but it still doesn't answer the question.

Your creator apparently used the same common components in constructing all life on Earth (including bacteria found on toilets). Why are you not offended by that?

What is so different about being related via common ancestry versus being related via common design?

Let's make things really super easy for you and rewind to the beginning of this train wreck. See if you can keep on track this time.....

Your post:
Banana relatives have no basis anywhere in the land of the living.
My response: Where I live (Singapore), that is an offensive thing to say.

Now, over to you. Try responding to what I said, not what you think I said.

Like or not TOE is a valid scientific theory that meets the same criteria as any other valid scientific theory. It does not refute the existence of G-d because it does not address that question. Like all science it looks at how not who.

Evolution, like the rest of science, is not a liberal, atheist conspiracy.

Am I supposed to care what some folks find offensive for no given reason here? Seriously?

Whose little silly rule is that? Apparently not God's. Try not to make up little rules you think are impressive, and maybe you won't get so confused.
Why do we have so much in common with other organisms even though we're (according to you) a "special creation"?
Not as much as we will have and did have! We used to talk to em. That did not mean man was not the reason all the rest was put here, and that we were not rulers and in the image of the Almighty.
Your creator apparently used the same common components in constructing all life on Earth (including bacteria found on toilets). Why are you not offended by that?
Only as far as science can see, and that is not very far. We have invisible components like God has as well!!!
What is so different about being related via common ancestry versus being related via common design?
One is the way it is, and the other is a fable made up without any God or creation to explain it all in a godless way.

I didn't make any rules, I asked you questions. Let's try again:

Why aren't humans wholly unique? Why don't we have a completely unique genetic code? Why don't we have completely unique biology?

Not as much as we will have and did have! We used to talk to em. That did not mean man was not the reason all the rest was put here, and that we were not rulers and in the image of the Almighty.

Again, you're not answering the question.

Why do we have so much in common with other organisms even though we're (according to you) a "special creation"?

We have invisible components like God has as well!!!

Okay, so you believe we have invisible components like God has.

What are these components? How do we define them? How can we know we have them? How can we know God has them?

Furthermore, are these invisible components necessitated by special creation? And if so, why?

One is the way it is, and the other is a fable made up without any God or creation to explain it all in a godless way.

I'm not asking what is. I'm asking what the difference is. Let's try again:

What is so different about being related via common ancestry versus being related via common design?

Why aren't humans wholly unique? Why don't we have a completely unique genetic code? Why don't we have completely unique biology?
What makes us unique and in God's image is not just the sweat between the toes or the size of the skull, or living on earth sharing similar physical bodies with other creatures.

Why do we have so much in common with other organisms even though we're (according to you) a "special creation"?
99.9999% of what makes us unique is not physical. Even if every flatworm and banana had 100% the same dna, they would be no closer to being human!

Okay, so you believe we have invisible components like God has.
Yes.
What are these components? How do we define them? How can we know we have them? How can we know God has them?
You do not set yourself up as a god and pretend that you can define God or His components or what life is really all about for starters.

What is so different about being related via common ancestry versus being related via common design?
One would make God a liar.

I never understand people who are offended at the concept of being related to plants and animals... but are apparently totally comfortable being related to murderers, torturers, cowards and thieves.

You do not set yourself up as a god and pretend that you can define God or His components or what life is really all about for starters.

But you're the one making the claim though.

If you don't know what these purported "invisible components" are, then how do you know we even have them?

One would make God a liar.

According to whose standard? Do you think that all Christians that don't adhere to your literal interpretation of the Bible are calling God a liar?
