While I agree wholeheartedly with what you say here, I just want to acknowledge that worms, presuming we speak of earthworms, are orders of magnitude better than I at making soil. I am proud to share the biosphere with such an industrious and vital creature.
It is interesting to note that much of the biosphere would perish without worms, whereas it would certainly benefit from the absence of humans.

This is the case regardless of whether one accepts evolution or not. It's not like humans have a wholly unique genetic code or biological attributes.

Plus, creationists often explain such similarities by claiming that their creator simply reused the same bits of genetic code or common genetic templates, and then claim that that's evidence of a common creator. Even though this would be implicitly no different than sharing common ancestry.
