  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What type of craft project are you working on now?

I see I'm not the only one who always has a bunch of projects going on all at the same time. Right now I'm working on a four-seasons cross-stitch, knitting a baby sweater for a co-worker who is having a baby girl in May (love knitting frilly pink girly sweaters!), and starting to design my next quilt.

Fixing to start knitting a poncho for my daughter.

mandi

Just got done crocheting a poncho for my daughter! It's cute, too. It's sky blue and has fringe around the bottom.

Unfinished: Huge medieval style cross-stitch, a purse I'm knitting for myself, and some finishing touches on my daughter's dollhouse (like some wallpaper and trim).

I knit and crochet, but crochet is the one I did first. It's funny you say that about crocheting being frustrating, because knitting can be a little harder for me. I find crocheting to be easy, maybe because I started when I was 9. But I must say I like the way a knitted peice looks better than a crocheted one. Have you tried getting an illustrated how to crochet book? That can make it so much easier. Good luck!

On this knitted purse I'm doing, it has a cable pattern on the edges and strap. Now that is frustrating!

wow I had no idea we had so many yarn and thread users!;)

Those other things are cool too!! I think it is so neat how many of us are working on things for other people. What a blessing that must be to the person that receives it.

I also find that Crocheting easier than knitting. I am not sure why. Doesn't anyone have any helpful tips ?
