I have been trying to learn how to do chinese brush painting. I have all the supplies, and have been practicing doing bamboo and leaves. As soon as I am somewhat satisfied, I plan on copying some really pretty flower pictures and giving them to my mom.

I've finally finished my hubby's green 9 patch quilt and one of my pink attic windows quilts.

Now, I've got about 8 quilt tops of varying sizes that need to be quilted. Also, I need to hurry up and get going on my Christmas quilts to give as gifts for my family. I have a chinese dragon quilt that I'm working on for my nephew, and a butterfly quilt for my niece. Also, I need to start on my daughter's quilts...horses for the older one, kitties for the younger. I'm tired just thinking about getting all that and more done by Christmas.

I'm re acquainting myself with crochet in the hope of making a scarf or even a shawl...

Can I suggest a poncho?! If you can do a double crochet you can crochet two rectangles and then stitch them together to make a poncho! I made one for my daughter and it was SO easy. I used fun fur to make a cute trim around the neckline and hem in simple single crochet. Here's a pattern from the Lion Brand website: http://freecrochetpatterns.lionbrand.com/patterns/ccw-childsPoncho.html I know this is the children's pattern, but I remember reading where you could adjust it to an adult size VERY easily.

And of course, there's always the prayer shawl: http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/khs-prayerShawl.html I made a bunch of these for Christmas two years ago. I love mine! It's the only thing I've made and kept for myself!

I'm knitting a shrug to wear with a bridesmaid dress in January. The dress is strapless, so I wanted something to cover up with! Check out the pattern at www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter03/PATTshimmer.html. I'm making it in black. I've got 2 sleeves and have started the back lozenge lace. Fingers crossed that it'll turn out well. I've already had to frog the back once.
