the whole law is talking about the legal system, not the 10 commandments themselfves. it might include them, but it also includes more then that. i includes all the laws, festivals, all the cermionies, the jubliee year, the sacrafices. Paul is not talking about the 10 commandments. This was a post by another member and rather than sidetracking that thread, I would like to ask others view of what exactly is meant by "the whole Law". Thanks
(NKJV) James 2:10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one [point,] he is guilty of all.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. We cant hear if we don't read. I know it means a bit more than this, but its still a fundamental truth.
If we don't read?Uhm...NO!!
The word of God referenced here is in the context of hearing...in other words the proclamation of His will. This verse is dealing with the spoken word of God ...not the Bible.
BTW - The Word of God is Jesus. The word of God is the communication of His will. The bible contains much of what was spoken and revealed in written form but it is NEVER referred to as The Word or the word in scripture.
You didn't read what i wrote carefully did you?
I said that i know it means more than this but we cant hear Gods word outside the word was my point. If it were not so, it wouldn't be written down for us to read and study. Without the written word in conjunction with the holy Spirit we will be deceived and not hear to well.
I disagree completely. Jesus told us He was going to send the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, not a perfect manuscript for us to idolize and replace the Spirit with. Scripture itself declares that a man can know the truth of God without scripture.
do u see how the new man, has nothing to do with u, the old man?
You would be surprised how much wrangling goes on with that verseThat invites deception, and i won't argue with you about it. The bible says:
ALL SCRIPTURE IS GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD, AND IS PROFITABLE FOR DOCTRINE, FOR REPROOF, FOR CORRECTION, FOR INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS: THAT THE MAN OF GOD MAY BE PERFECT, THROUGHLY FURNISHED UNTO ALL GOOD WORKS. 2 Timothy 3:16,17.
Forgve me for the big letters, its a copy/paste off a web site

Inerrancy and 2 Timothy 3:16

LOL - You won't argue with me about it huh? Well good for you.
Kind of curious why you are hanging out on a discussion forum though.
Yes the scripture is given by inspiration. In fact I have read and studied this verse extensively long before you threw it at me today. You make a whole lot of assumptions and draw conclusions based on bias and hysteria from it though it would seem to me.
I am curious how you think having a bible has stopped us from being deceived? Even if we only consider those groups who agree completely on a single canon and accept it as inerrant, we still have so much disagreement over truth that it is clear the idolatry that is biblioletry today breeds deception.
Paul used the holy books and he had gifts from the holy Spirit we could only dream of. And its your rudeness and mocking that tells me you only want to argue, not discuss.

In order to disagree with what i said you would need to be either argumentative or just trying to say that we shouldn't read the bible and that's just false.
What? Seriously...I was not being argumentative and I was not at all suggesting we should not read the bible. Stop telling me what you think I believe and try asking me.
And by the way...read your sentence again and see if you don't see a great deal of prideful arrogance. In order to disagree with what you said...I only need to disagree with what you said.
