What is the true meaning of 1 Corinthians 15:29?

That paper is just a paper.
You asked for an explanation, I gave one.
You just refuse to admit your doctrine attempts to supersede Christ.
I'm OCD truthful and I will gladly admit that Christ is my Lord, Savior, and King. I owe Him my life and devote every second and every fiber of my being to Him.

Christians can't make people see what they don't want to see. God can.

Most Mormons don't believe us or the Bible.

Nephi testified that the Bible once “contained the fulness of the gospel of the Lord, of whom the twelve apostles bear record” and that “after [the words] go forth by the hand of the twelve apostles of the Lamb, from the Jews unto the Gentiles, thou seest the formation of that great and abominable church, which is most abominable above all other churches; for behold, they have taken away from the gospel of the Lamb many parts which are plain and most precious; and also many covenants of the Lord have they taken away” (1 Nephi 13:24, 26).

You mean, the Bible is supposedly authenticated by whatever 'true church' there is, rather than the other way round?

This statement is downright false. Rather, LDS love the Bible as the word of God, and study it frequently. For example, today's Sunday School lesson was on Noah's Arc. My personal studies were in John and Galatians.

Only certain verses are true if they can twist the meaning to fit their doctrine and only their church has any God-given authority.

I, of course, disagree.

Huh? Truth is of God. Scripture and the Church both come from God, and both testify of Him.
This statement is downright false. Rather, LDS love the Bible as the word of God, and study it frequently. For example, today's Sunday School lesson was on Noah's Arc. My personal studies were in John and Galatians.

Doesn't the first statement somewhat undermine the second? if the 'church' and Scriptures are supposedly on a par?

No. I'm not following how you're even coming to that question.
The first quote seemed to put Scripture and the 'church' on an authoritative par.

Thus, however enthusiastically Bible study is asserted, it is hard to see how such Bible study acknowledges the final authority of Scripture.

If any one wants to hear about my very real love for every single verse of the Bible, you're welcome to ask.

God Himself is the final authority.

Yes. Nor is He dead: LDS believe He continues to live and continues to speak.
I do look to His Word - the Bible - for 'thus saith the LORD', rather than to any church claiming to overrule His Word or add to it.

God is the giver of scripture. Again, LDS believe He still lives and still speaks. Scripture is not a love letter from a dead person.

Christians have NEVER said that God is dead. God certainly does speak to us through the Holy Spirit. He never lied --- ever.

John 16
5But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou? 6But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. 7Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9Of sin, because they believe not on me; 10Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; 11Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. 13Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 15All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

If a person believes the Bible, he doesn't believe 1 Nephi 13:20-29, Moroni 8:8, 2 Nephi 2:23-25, and many other exclusively Mormon teachings. Mormonism contradicts the Bible and adds all kinds of doctrines and commandments not given by God.
