This is utterly rediculous logic.

Zechariah 9 is not a time prophecy. Its taking about 2 events that take place at 2 different times, but it does not specify a time period that both events needs to take place within. Zechariah 9 does not say that within 2000 years these events will happen. Therefore, its totally different to Daniel 9 where a specific list of things needs to happen and the appointed time for them to be done is 70 weeks. How do you believe an interpretation that just adds more time to the 70 weeks and use a non time prophecy in Zech 9 to justify that?

You're argument is idiotic.

It's the type of EVENTS that signify the time gap between those two Zechariah 9:9-10 verses.

Zech 9:9-10
9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

That above verse was HISTORY. It happened when Jesus Christ rode into Jerusalem on an ass. That was at His 1st coming.

Zech.9:10 And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from river even to the ends of the earth.
KJV

This above 10th verse has NOT HAPPENED YET TODAY. There is one final siege to occur in Jerusalem for the end of this world that has yet to occur. Until Christ's 2nd coming happens to end it, this 10th verse will not be fulfilled. At Christ's 2nd coming is when that battle bow shall be cut off, AND He will speak peace to the Gentiles, AND He will begin His LITERAL reign over all nations on earth. The Zechariah 14 chapter gives more details on that future literal reign, as does Revelation 20. And it is easy... to know that today... Jesus is not here on earth reigning from that river to the ends of the earth.

Now there are SOME men today on earth, who do NOT want Jesus to literally reign over them on earth. They do not want... Him to return! And it is those... men who try to deny these EVENTS of His 1st coming and then His 2nd coming.

And the HISTORY CLOCK for Christ's 1st coming began ticking on the day of His crucifixion in the 1st century A.D. And it has been about 1,991 years since that time, so THERE IS THE GAP EVIDENCED IN THAT SCRIPTURE.

So then you also agree that Peter was wrong? That's an interesting take, but I suppose, again, if you have to say Scripture is wrong in order to avoid admitting that apocalyptic language might not be literal--that's your prerogative.

I never said Peter was wrong. Peter said we just entered the last days. Those days will end with Jesus coming back. Matthew 24: 29“Immediately after the tribulation of those days....

The mark of the beast happened in ancient times nothing to worry about

Hello. Perhaps it was not possible for it to have happened in ancient times. If we're talking about a global mark here that affects everyone, no-one can buy and sell without it and comparing that to something that happened in the Roman Empire. Remember that the Roman Empire only covered a % of the earth. People in Persia, China, etc would not be affected by anything that happened in the Roman Empire, indeed people in South America, Australia would have not even heard of it. For this reason I think it's a mark coming soon that will affect everyone, as indeed the scripture says. God Bless :)

Hi,

The book itself was not written to the future or to us. It was written in symbolic form to 1st Century Christians and people back than thought the world was Rome. If St. John wrote in straight forward language the guards will never let the letter out, the Christians than could understand it. I don't believe there will be any mark or anything because I do not believe Revelation is future but past. God Bless too :)

Hello. Thanks for your reply. The 1st Century Christians knew of Persia, which was in the OT but not subject to the Roman Empire, no mark there, so indeed with Armenia, Arabia, Germania etc. Therefore to suggest it was a universal mark is perhaps a little weak. God Bless :)

We will have to disagree. It boils down to the fact that despite it want it to Revelation was not written to us but to others. I belong to futurism once when I wanted it to be that way and thought the Bible was written to 21st century man. It is not and never was, imo to act like the Bible and Revelation is future when it very clearly specifies "things that much shortly come to pass". I will never again fall into the error that Revelation is taking about the globe or now.

Hello. Thank you for your reply. OK, we can agree to disagree. I'm sorry you had a bad experience in the past. But I don't think something that happened in the Ancient Roman Empire fits the description of the Mark of the beast as seen in Revelation. Look at the number of times Revelation talks about the 'whole world' or the 'entire earth', I don't think it's message can be applied to one state alone. It's global. God Bless :)

What is the mark of the beast? The Mark of the Beast (Beast is symbolic for a kingdom like in Daniel 7), is the mark of the ecclesiastical authority for the last day kingdom that was foretold to come in many parts in the Holy Bible, in particularly Daniel 2 about the statue of a man with feet mix with iron and miry clay, Daniel 7 about the 4th beast with teeth of iron and a little horn coming up among the horns which plucked up 3 horns.

So why is the mark placed in one of either areas? Why is it placed if it's accomplished by the person rather than another person?

Thinking or doing things would mean the person places the mark upon themselves by doing or thinking certain things but the text does not support that since it is someone else that gives the mark to people.

Is "her" a type-o?
Cain was given a mark on his forehead, lest anyone should slay him. The word mark can also be translated as sign.

The forehead represents the mind (Hebrews 10:16), The hand is a symbol of work (Ecclesiastes 9:10)

Exodus 13:9 "And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the Lord's law may be in thy mouth."

Isaiah 59:6, 7 "Their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands. ... Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths."

I'm really scared of accidentally taking the mark of the Beast unaware, or being forced to take it.

What is the Mark Of the Beast? Is it a vaccine? Is it metaphorical? How can I avoid it? I really am terrified.

I'm pretty much convinced that it is metaphorical, in that if your thoughts (forehead) and actions (right hand) do not fit the new demanded standard (worshipping the beast) you will be cut off from economic activity (buying and selling) and essentially made into homeless jobless vagrants.
