No, more like howling at the moon. You have no idea how much I would love to address this issue. NTL I must stay out of trouble and not with you. Therefore I can't discuss it. All I can say is it isn't me who does the barking.
OK I'll accept that is what you do. No problemo. No, more like howling at the moon.
Interesting but no cigar. I would say almost counts only in horse shoes, washers and hand grenades but that really doesn't apply.Christ can manifest himself to appear human, just as he did in the cases mentioned above. He could not have appeared to them in all His glory or they would have all died... Only you say that a spirit being cannot eat food. I on the other hand have not quarrel with the fact that Jesus ate food after He was resurrected...I would think that the Creator of all things, wouldn't have a problem eating food if He so choose.
Christ is not a physical being, He is a spiritual being, a loving spiritual being that loves His creation...ie man!
What are you talking about?Changing the subject won't change the truth.
What was Jesus saying to Nicodemus in John 3? Was Jesus talking about some distant future event.NO, we will not be like Jesus in the physical form...We will be like Him in the spiritual form....Born again into the Kingdom of God...We will be spiritual beings not physical flesh and blood beings...
Those resurrected in the Great White Throne Judgment period will be resurrected physical human beings...that resurrection is at the end of the 1000 year period...
after that there is a third resurrection of the incorrigible...they will go to the lake of fire...burned up...ashes under the soles of the saints...they will not inherit eternal life...they will not be born into the family of God...remember murders, thieves, liars etc...will not go into the family of God...they will simply be burned up...their memory forgotten...the smoke of their torment will rise forever...lights out for eternity...
I knew you would miss that I meant Jesus.Actually it is what God said...2 Tim 3.16-17 "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Interesting but no cigar. I would say almost counts only in horse shoes, washers and hand grenades but that really doesn't apply.
If Christ isn't a physical being then Who was this Jesus that claimed to be God?
So what is Paul talking about? I need a little more discussion and perhaps some Scipture wouldn't hurt.
Jesus said no one has ascended.
to me, that means of his own accord.
you can't get to heaven without going through Jesus.
and I was referencing Acts2 for David.
yes, his body is in the grave, but his spirit (conciousness) is in heaven waiting with the other righteous
to come back to earth with Christ and be raised on earth again, as promised.
there is no contradiction.
as I have said, we have plently of biblical scripture that shows the dead in heaven doing things...
see the Rev quotes...Rev5, 12, 19, 22.
since there are dead in heaven, today, the Acts2 and John3 scriptures reference Jesus only, not us. It can't because we have plently of scripture showing the dead in heaven before the end comes.
so, Paul and Jesus refered to the WAY and POWER that one gets to heaven.
who else has ascended like Christ?
no one.
why?
because He's God.
who else sits at the right hand of God...not David or anyone else.
OK have it your way after all it really is Buger King. Yeppers I disagree!!!!!Christ is not a physical being now!!! Come on stay with me.keep up,lol
Please read my post. If you don't want to, don't goad me.i posed the question.
why don't you take a stab and answer?
All your verse quotes apply only to the flesh of the body and attitudes of man about the deceased.seems to me that you are reading more in the verse than it states.
as stated, your answer did not include any reference to acts 2 and i saw no inference.
the bible says the direct opposite of you in relation to consciousness in death:
Psalms 146:4(NKJV)
4 His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day his plans perish. (see also eccl 9:5)
you do know that "the revelation" was a vision, right? a vision is not real, it's like a dream. so, the people in the books you referenced in revelation are also part of the vision, and the bible is quite clear as to where one goes at death:
Genesis 3:19(NKJV)
19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.
Ecclesiastes 9:10(NKJV)
10Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.
the bible is clear about where one goes at death, the grave!
Psalms 6:5(NKJV)
5 For in death there is no remembrance of You; In the grave who will give You thanks? (the answer is no one of course, why? because they're dead!)
and study these verses carefully, job explains very nicely:
Job 14:10-15(NKJV)
10 But man dies and is laid away; Indeed he breathes his last And where is he?
11 As water disappears from the sea, And a river becomes parched and dries up,
12 So man lies down and does not rise. Till the heavens are no more, They will not awake Nor be roused from their sleep.
13 Oh, that You would hide me in the grave, That You would conceal me until Your wrath is past, That You would appoint me a set time, and remember me!
14 If a man dies, shall he live again? All the days of my hard service I will wait, Till my change comes.
15 You shall call, and I will answer You; You shall desire the work of Your hands.
job knew that if one dies he's dead, not living, and he understood where one goes at death.
he also knew that unless one is brought back to life that one is still dead, or lifeless.
OK have it your way after all it really is Buger King. Yeppers I disagree!!!!!

Ecc. 3:19 For what happens to the sons of men also happens to animals; one thing befalls them: as one dies, so dies the other. Surely, they all have one breath; man has no advantage over animals, for all is vanity.
Breath isn't the soul. And if you're going to compare man to an animal all this God stuff is shear tom foolery..... and worthless vainty for one simple ceases to exist either righteous or wicked. Solomon didn't make a distinction. Therefore his statement applies to all and not just the wicked. IOW even the righteous are annihilated. So party harty cause it is over for every body at death.Ecc. 3:19 For what happens to the sons of men also happens to animals; one thing befalls them: as one dies, so dies the other.
