I just posted something a few days ago about birds boosting your happiness in the pets and animals forum.
Some birds and flowers are just so beautiful. They remind you of God's greatness.

And you are half a day closer to winter, not that winter there is much of a challenge. :)

Well... we don't get snow. So for some I guess that doesn't even count as winter.

If, though, like me, you hate to be cold, it's definitely the less pleasant part of the year!

No. :) I just spend the winter months complaining about not being warm!
I tend to suffer some degree of it after Christmas in this part of the world.

I didn't realize SAD is a thing until just now. I guess it's worse in some parts of the world than others. I imagine there are some places that pretty much stay cold. Those poor folks hope summer falls on a Saturday so they can get out and enjoy it.

I read a book recently by someone who led a year-long expedition in Antarctica (Leading on the Edge, by Rachael Robertson - for what it's worth, I highly recommend it). When you don't see daylight for months on end, winter takes on a whole new meaning...

Yeah it’s really a thing. I do not get it severely but I get it enough where it can really throw off my routines.

They are just mini dinosaurs!

They act and move funny.. I had a few parrots as a kid.. and those beady dead looking eyes always made me shudder.

Once I was walking barefoot and stepped on a dead bird.. and freaked out.. it's actual dead eyes just staring at me.. ants were covered all over it as well.

Well sounds like you were traumatized. My godmother is afraid of birds to the point she will not even eat poultry of any type. It’s a condition but I do not remember what it’s called. Don’t go into the pets and animals section. Tons of bird videos there. Lol
