I always have to do this little double-take when I realise you folks are a day behind me.

It's Thursday morning here, and I'm eating breakfast and mentally gearing up for a busy day.

Lol! I have the same issue for those of you in different countries. Hope your day is not too overwhelming.

The thing is, I'm gearing up to my annual pre-Easter flap, where I get a bit overwhelmed by how much there is to do before Holy Week. Usually I have a day or so of fending off rocking in a corner, then I get a grip and get on with it and somehow it all works out. :)

I can relate to the strong desire to go into a fetal position and rock in a corner. I know this is an extremely busy time for priests. I have watched mine running around like chickens with their heads chopped off. Funny thing is, many are unaware how busy this time of year is for them.

Probably the same people who think clergy only work Sundays. ;)

So how's the day looking. Worth our getting up for?

I have a Eucharist this morning, followed by a Lenten study group. My afternoon is clear (which I will spend preparing for Sunday's services; I have three Eucharists and a baptism this Sunday, so I have to prepare the services and write the sermons). Then I have parish council in the evening. So, lots to do, but it should all be good!

Sent in my covid test through the mail. Don't think I have it.. but with the sniffles I thought it would be best to get it checked.
That’s the responsible thing to do. So tired of the Covid monster!

Yeah it's not bad.. I just order a test online and they send it through the mail.. it's a saliva test too.. so it's pretty painless. Should get my results at least by Friday. Although right now I feel fine.

Good! Waiting for my age group to get mine. But I would very much appreciate not getting the Johnson one. That’s my fear. But you probably already know that.

Well I’m Catholic so it has to do with a fetal line. I know it’s a one time vaccination but it also not seem to be as effective as the other two time vaccines. I’d like to go with Moderna or Pfizer.

Speaking of what's on my mind...

Pfizer is talking about upping the price on the yearly covid booster. My first thought was 'what yearly booster?"

Pfizer sees 'opportunity' to hike price for COVID vaccine

Gene therapy is acceptable for the food we eat, so why not in a vaccine I guess. What could go wrong with a GMO human, other than someone would own the patent on us.

This is clearly a highly mutable virus. I would expect that, as with flu, it will continuously develop new strains, and rolling vaccinations will be needed to keep up. I just hope that, like flu, it becomes something we mostly can live with as part of the backdrop to our "normal" lives.

We learn a lot from the tunes and lyrics people listen to and dedicate to one another. It’s kind of a teen thing but beautiful nonetheless. :) But caution in all things. Our dreams are always more beautiful than reality. I was thinking of this tonight while contemplating the ebbs and flows of life. Love truly is a decision. It’s a gamble but it is also a commitment.
